Beautiful flowers. I hope you manage to keep it alive 🤞 How cold is it likely to get where you are? It's been around 7 deg here lately...
@JboosPlants_Bonsai2 күн бұрын
The lowest it gets is usually around the mid to low 20’s, which for me is very cold, so 7 deg sounds crazy!!

You could take off those little baby leaves and bury it deeper. It'll probably be fine either way❤

Two of three biggest trees are standing on the sides while the smallest in the middle. Maybe it was made on purpose but usually composition looks better when tallest tree positioned in the middle and all smaller trees are on the sides. Triangular shape approach works for forest as well as for single bonsai trees 😉

Thanks for the feedback! I agree 100% but I’m happy with the way this forest looks as is, but definitely gonna consider that a bit more for my next forest(s)!!

Great winter care tips! Since you mentioned grow lights when bringing plants indoors, could you share some additional tips on grow lights? I see different varieties and strengths and I'd like to see how you utilize grow lights.
@JboosPlants_Bonsai22 күн бұрын
I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to grow lights and it gets somewhat complicated, how you set up your grow lights is of course going to depend on what you’re situation requires, like if you’re growing vegetables you’ll need more intense light and for longer durations then just typical houseplants, I believe leds are the most efficient choice, and ideally full spectrum lights are better but most houseplants can suffice with a less broad spectrum, and also be mindful of positioning of the lights, you don’t want to damage your plants with too much light, just increase distance between light and plant if that occurs. It gets complicated when looking for a “good” light, wattage is not going to be the most important factor, so don’t just get something that advertises crazy high wattage, a more useful metric to use would be ppfd this measures the amount of actual usable light your plant is receiving, obviously if your plant is getting light that can’t be used what’s the point. But yeah there’s a lot of information out there, hope this helps somewhat

@@JboosPlants_Bonsai thanks for the insight! My veranda and window face east, so in general my plants don't get a lot of good sunlight, but even more so my indoor succulents are etiolating pretty bad. I'll be mindful of ppfd when looking for grow lights. Very much appreciate your advice and keep up the great work with the educational videos!

That ficus would be the result of a seed sprouting in the rotten wood of a wound on the larger tree. This happens with trees all the time.
