Great video. I wonder how it compares in terms of efficiency to towing an aerodynamic camper (like a pop up or a-liner). I’m pretty sure that because all that gear is super drag-inducing it might be comparable (unlike a large camper that is almost as aerodynamic as a large brick - nothing against it - we also had one, but it is what it is)

.625 kWh is a good base number to go by. An average of 15% a day is something that can easily be planned for. I know of some great camping areas not far from a Supercharger.

The efficiency is a bit disappointing, especially given you weren't towing. I live in Australia and have a Cybertruck reservation. I'm not sure it is going to be the best solution for me. Australia is a big country with huge gaps between chargers. I am beginning to think that a range extender EV like the BYD Shark or Ramcharger might be better. It's a pity, since I currently own a Model 3 and didn't want to go back to internal combustion, but I think EVs just aren't fit for purpose for long haul towing in remote locations yet.

You really gave a great unbiased review of this EV from the unique perspective of a truck user and frequent tower. I echo your final thoughts 100%. The CT exceeded my expectations and is my daily driver now. Obviously it's not perfect, there are a couple things that really bug me (the rearview mirror is one of them). Ultimately no regrets.

I love the hipocracy of buying a vehicle for its environmental credentials, then littering it with mostly worthless accessories that would have a huge carbon footprint from their production, packaging and postage.

I think he was just being nice. Nobody buys a truck that they don't like the look of. Also he is comparing his old truck to the latest tech without knowing what the other trucks are offering. I am sure if he also got to test a Lightning, which has a lot of the same features with the looks and brand he loves, he would go with that. On a side note, air suspension actually gives a worse ride. The benefit of air suspension is the ability to adjust the height, but it costs you in comfort (neither is wrong, just depends what you prefer). This is backed up by any review site that did side by side comparisons with all the EV trucks. The lightning always comes out the best for ride quality and quietness because it's one of the few that doesn't have air suspension.

That's a pass for me on all that. Thanks for sharing anyways.

Was it worth loosing 20,000+ on a truck that’s glued together yup glued. Trucks are breaking frame, tie rods are breaking, air ride is a nightmare in every car made maintenance cost, rear steering is just expensive to maintain, blown motors cost 7,000 in tesla model sxy3 how much they cost in a Cybertruck??????? Even tires are expensive etc….

There seems to be a small variation in the tire diameter, which would count for some of the efficiency difference. Falcons show they went further, even though the two trucks went the same distance. This would indicate to me that the Falcons have at least 5% worse range..
