Do you know how to brighten up dng files in Helicon Focus? I find it difficult to do the retouching with dark photos
@mibreit-photo
@mibreit-photo 2 сағат бұрын
If you use the DNG workflow, Helicon will display the raw data without any adjustments which for dark files might be too dark. I don't know if it can be brightened, but it might be a great feature to simplify the retouching. I will check with Helicon. As a workaround, you could use TIFF workflow which uses the edited files. But then you loose a lot of flexibility. Also, be aware that if your data is too dark and doesn't show enough details and contrast, the stacking might not work perfectly.

I know this problem myself, but it's with mirrorless cameras. The results are much better with the old 5Ds and 5DsR. Has anyone had the same experience? Is it possible that after adapting the EF lenses to the Canon R, the plane of focus is not 100% on the sensor?

Edit your videos for time. This should be a 4 minute piece. We already know what the problem is to be solved, spend 15 seconds on that, we know how to cut with a knife. Why are you talking about your dull knife anyway! We don’t need to see or hear more than 15 seconds on the company and packaging. For that 10 minutes you spent you don’t actually show assembly into the bag. Accelerate your video for things like cutting. Write a script and chop it down. Keep it moving. Good luck

All we really need is a cheap option for the fstop type icus, they are cool, yet a bit pricey. Those dividers looks OK in some cases, but don't really know are they worth it or no. I use a lot of small dividers from older bags

I’ve extensively tested PureRAW 4, particularly the new DeepPRIME XD2 feature, and reached a very different conclusion. Compared to Lightroom’s noise reduction, it actually destroys detail-especially in green areas like foliage and fields. When pixel-peeping and comparing side by side, Lightroom consistently retains more detail in these areas, whereas DXO’s output often turns into a mushy mess. The perceived sharpness and detail from PureRAW 4 is frequently the result of sharpening artifacts and small halos, stemming from its aggressive sharpening algorithm. By adjusting Lightroom Classic’s texture, sharpness, and detail sliders, I can achieve results that are just as sharp, if not sharper. For those who prefer that slightly over sharpened aesthetic, it’s easy to create a custom preset in Lightroom. I tested this with several Sony cameras, multiple lenses and a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone (where PureRAW should theoretically excel due to the smaller sensor), and the results were consistently the same: low-contrast areas, especially foliage and vegetation, are vastly superior coming out of Lightroom’s noise reduction. With Black Friday sales tempting me to purchase PureRAW yet again, I gave it another chance-but once again, I’ll pass.

If I have adjusted the settings on the copy photo with the required ICC profile, how do I deliver the adjusted copy photo to the printing service? In other words, how do I save this 'new' photo with the ICC profile?
@mibreit-photo
@mibreit-photo 2 ай бұрын
You might find my in-depth article about printing helpful. I also cover export -> www.mibreit-photo.com/tutorials/how-to-print-photos.html#converting-the-color-space Most labs will require you to convert your files to either adobeRGB or sRGB at the end. You best check with your lab. The profile you used for the proofing is really just for that, the proofing. You should not convert to it, except if your lab explicitly tells you to do so. Once you made the conversion, save it as tiff for highest quality if your lab supports it.

I bought my FLM CB-48 FTR ball head several years ago when the company was still a small German family company before it was sold to a larger German company. I still love the perfect ball head and it is the German quality and craftsmanship I admire. When I was in need for a stable larger tripod they didn't had the series II not yet available in Europe and I bought a Gitzo Systematic series 4 and when I bought the FLM leveler LB-15 (working perfectly) they made based on my idea FLM made a special distance ring LB-DR-20 which I received for free to fit the leveler on my Gitzo. It is great that the original high standards to produce ball heads and tripods are still there and I only hear and read good reviews of their tripods. When I am in a need to buy a smaller travel tripod or heavier tripod I defiantly will go for FLM. I also like their new ball head design.
