Very funny, not too serious, which is what we all need. A good laugh here and there.

In my head: How do you know that a ruler on your monitor is accurate. How do you know that an actual ruler is accurate. How do I know if ANYTHING is accurate. Go eat rice.

Lol. Valid questions. Been trying to let go of being right about things for that exact same reason, though it still trips me out that I can't really prove that I'm having the same experience as anyone else.

Hey brotha, thanks for the sendoff! Glad we met. Thanks for asking after that - the link is: www.youtube.com/@thecalmcore Gonna help folks with anxious attachment styles (who are dating conflict avoidants). The flavor and editing will probably be similar, but the focus will be on helping folks reset when overrun by emotions and build strong relationships. also where did you get the training from? like, how do you know what to do with the rice
@robversus2 ай бұрын
Really good questions. For the duration of this video, the only forearm/grip training I was doing was in the rice bucket. Session time is what I used to track exhaustion point. It's the point right before I start injuring myself vs. gaining strength or effectiveness. The training is based on the different types of muscles in the fingers and wrists. I wanted to train extensors, flexors, and rotators so I did the movements that created resistance for those muscle groups. Extensors and flexors were trained to exhaustion, rotators were not.
@Adriel_rdj862 ай бұрын
nice, did you do something else other than rice bucket training? also can you explain the "Session time" variable

I’ve been practicing for a good while now, and almost every time I hit my target, it sticks! My only problem is hitting my target. Any suggestions?
@robversus3 ай бұрын
@bricksinmotion942 Hell yeah. Well done. Mm...2 things. 1. Make sure you're applying force to the toothpick in a straight line. It's easier to get the timing down when your shots follow a consistent trajectory. I prefer throwing high to low, but right to left also works, depending on your target. If it's a wide target, throw sideways. If it's a tall target, throw vertically. If it's square or round, then either one works. 2. Start with a BIG target first. It's more rewarding and will trick your brain into enjoying practice. Once the big target feels too easy, switch to something smaller. Keep practicing, and don't pressure yourself to figure it out immediately. You're going to be amazing at this if you keep giving yourself some time to cook.

The gordon ramsay thing isn't for sharpening, it's just to make the edge straighter. It's to preserve sharpness over time :D Loving the video btw, very well edited

Dude yeah. Early in his career Ramsey made this video series on how to cook and he spends the entire first episode (called how to sharpen a knife) using a honing rod and talking about how important it is to have a sharp knife. Didn't find out til years later that the video was a giant red Herring. Thanks for the commentary man! Appreciate ya

Concrete is a harder (denser) substance than your metal grater, and the points of contact are fewer on the grater. "Grate" way to destroy your grater though! Glad you did all this without slicing your hand. Be safe ~
@robversus4 ай бұрын
Looks like it depends on where the concrete is located (damp swampy climates like where I live are lower hardness 3-4 on the Mohs scale) and composition. But if you live in the American Midwest it can be harder than ordinary steel (5-7 vs. 4-4.5). And no, a steel knife sharpener wouldn't be damaged by a softer metal like aluminum. I'm glad I didn't murder my hands either haha. Thanks for commenting man 👊🏻
