never get enough of the Japanese love of Jazz and the greats bringing it full out live over there. Incredible piece of art, this album.

Holy ghost, give all involved musicians their deserved credit! Unbelievable... Besides Chet we listen to Harold Danko on piano, Hein van de Geyn on bass and John Engels on drums!

I listen to this album over and over. Some of the best jazz ever recorded. Stella was evidently his warm-up tune because it is the least "Stellar" of the cuts. Outside of that, Danko is superior and the Bass & Drums are solid especially on Portrait in Black & White (Zingaro). My Funny Valentine is the BEST rendition in history - bar none! Almost Blue is haunting. Worth twice the price.

what i love in the first track is the band swings with the jazz sound SO many of us have loved and continue to love in a trumpet band. the second track they laid down has the lust for jazz that i constantly fill my collection with, playing one might find on black codes (from the underground) '85 - similar intensity and excellence. as i compose i'm not able to ignore Chet's unfortunate death in Amsterdam, NL. just the intro to Almost Blue, whew ! gin martini straight up two olives please. Thank You child el. now onto side 2 12.10.2024

Been waiting for someone to upload this for decades, thank you so much. I had a cassette tape from the vinyl given to me by my step-father before his passing who had got it off his brother-in-law who was a big jazz-funk / fusion vinyl collector, but the cassette wore out a long while ago. One of the greatest albums of the 1980s and I think Tom's best. Awesome!!!!!!

On the B side of the cassette was Ramsey Lewis 'Love Notes'. What a great cassette that was , no wonder I wore it out!
