I have a 20kw reverse cycle ducted system supplied and installed by you. Today the outside temperature is 40 degrees. I have 3 zones on at 80% each zone (one is pretty large open area) and the temperature is set at 26 with medium fan speed. I find that with the setting at 26 the room temperatures are too cool. What do you suggest is the best way to tackle this with regard to comfort and running costs?

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. We recommend a few things; 1. Put the temperature up higher. This is best for running costs as every degree cooler adds around 10% to the amount of electricity used. 2. Change the fan speed from medium to low, as this will reduce the rate of cooling. 3. Adjust the zone percentages. With three zones running at 80% capacity, there may be room for adjustment in how the zones are configured. For instance, your large open area may require 80% but if your other areas are smaller, this amount may be too high. Try adjusting the percentage of airflow to each zone to better suit the specific requirements of each area. We hope this helps!

For anyone wondering the thing makes a 1second long beep (near the manhole cover) when it's 9v battery is low, It happens every 20min approximately. This took me ages to find this because F&D didn't tell me about this thing.

when turning A/C on, should I be setting fan speed to high to get the most airflow then once the house has cooled down reduce to low?

Hi Jacob, yes that is the best way to run the system. Or, you can start at high fan speed and then switch to Medium

Hi Horseygran, thanks for the feedback! Sadly there isn't much you can do to reduce the noise of the outdoor unit. We recommend turning the system on earlier than you may do otherwise so that it doesn't ramp up to 100% capacity for extended periods of time.

All good when you are buying and installing one of their systems. But watch out after the money changes hands! I had a Daikin installed by them and had an issue a few years later. Don't think of ringing them for any advice. They are not interested unless you pay for a call out. I wanted a piece of advice not a service call ffs!
