I discovered I was a liturgical dancer in college 10 years ago. I felt a call to dance for the Lord but did not attend a church that had liturgical dance. I also did not know how to dance so I created my own dance. I remember dancing for the Lord as one of the best experiences of my life. I didn't know what liturgical dance was just that I wanted to praise the Lord through dance. Regrettably, I stopped dancing as I became distracted with the ups and downs of life. I discovered true liturgical dance again recently 10 years later and have started studying it more seriously this time.

Wow! Thanks for sharing your journey. We have similar stories. I, too, took a break at one time before seriously studying liturgical dance. At the time not a lot of teaching was available on liturgical dance. I encourage you to keep going and being the unique dancer you are! It’s all a part of your process ✨ God bless you!

It definitely makes sense I just found out that about this from your video. And it’s blessing my heart. Because I thought it was something wrong with me. Like a month or so ago I was teaching my step nieces a dance and one of them kept playing during practice and I couldn’t take it no more so I told her I wasn’t going to do it anymore because I love to worship it makes me feel like I’m alive and to see her not taking it serious made me feel like it was just a dance to her but to me it means a lot. I don’t know what to call myself right now. But I’m going to pray on and see what the lord says. Thank you for being a blessing and helping me learn a little something about liturgical dance.
