What? Blocks directly laid on the dirt, which can soften up after rain and ruining the level of the block layer. Proper way would ve been to either lay some paverbase or concrete under the blocks and tamp it even.

That thing would withstand a 300mph wind. Enough lumber there to build 2 fences. Even with the price of lumber 8 years ago it seems a complete waste to me but it is a fine looking fence.

Man, I remember watching this as a kid. I’m 43 now and I’m a builder. I enjoyed watching the home improvements shows on pbs when I was a kid. Now we have cordless nailers

So, to summarize it in a simplified way, you scrape off a couple inches of dirt, then layer it with either Lyme stone or sand, make sure the sand is not dry and not too moist, make sure it's nice and flat with a pather or stomping it down with your shoes, and finally you can lay down your bricks.

Hello, I’d like to ask for your advice. I have a fence with 19 terminal posts in a straight line. The terminal posts are 2-3/8” inches and 6ft tall above the ground. They are embedded 24 inches down in concrete. Approximately 15 of these posts are not plumb. They are slightly not level. Approximately 5 degrees off. I have a top rail going. I have also a top rail bar that is tension banded between all of these posts. My worry is that over time the terminal posts will continue to tilt. Should I correct them now or is it not worth the effort? What kind of lifespan can I expect if they are going to continue to tilt? Thank you in advanced.

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzbin.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
