I may need help (PS4 version). I tried the Wisdom Spam method, but the Mushroom always ends up on the ground just as Sora either begins shooting or even before casting the first Thundaga spell. And this is from someone who got Platinum in both Final Fantasy X and Jak II, which both have insanely hard luck-based sidequests.

Just back here to rant. Smacked Axel around to 0 health about a dozen times without getting rid of his fire floor, didn't realize you need to get rid of that to actually finish him. Now I can't actually get him to jump in the flames to even give me the prompt no matter how much I smack him around. I think I'm done with Kingdom Hearts for a while, I get worse the more I play

probably the simplest method, but it's still difficult to get 85 hits on this son of a b1tch, but it was the one I saw the most results with (in fact, a tip, every 15 hits, it goes up a little higher, it's useful especially on the 45th hit to spend the thunder and maintain the attitude.)

Little bit of practice and it works flawlessly. Waaaay easier setup and execution than: "Masterform combo into thundaga till mp are depleted, revert back to normal form and keep vertical slashing and hope you connect all of those hits, because master form doesnt follow its target downwards :)"

Got it on my second try with your strategy. I can honestly say that this (Mushroom #8) was a terrifying challenge by the fact that in nearly 20 years, nobody had a real strategy that'd work most of the time. Everybody would just cross their fingers and try anything until they got it - until I saw your strategy, with which I got 99 hits without any effort. Congrats.

I kept trying this method and it didn't work for me (on PC). Then I went into the options menu and set the frame rate limit from 120 down to 60. Then I immediately got a 99 with this method. So not sure if frame rate matters for this method, but it can be worth a try.
