Ok ok. This location is horrible for repeated thieves, some returning a couple times same day. The location of store is in a neighborhood on the decline, with a shelter, mission, & safe use material site right beside. a lot of unemployed just hanging out in front, across the street. My boss refuses to visit this store. But I love how everyone’s excusing his behaviour. They were given many chances to peacefully exit, but common. Most of you are lying if you say you’d just let someone spit on you. Especially in this neighborhood, who knows if they have anything and what you can catch. Maybe one too many hits were given but common. I’m sick of watching everyone steal while expenses go up and these ppl just keep stealing. And can’t guarantee but I’d say he’s on some sort of gov assistance or at least getting something from disability but that’s no excuse. I can’t afford to live comfortably dt so I live on outskirts of dt while these people live dt and I have to commute dt. So the state of “woke” need be checked. Privilege is the ability to shop without having ask for assistance to open cupboards to get what we need. We will end up like NYC if this isint curbed fast. The state of downtown is messed. Open drug use, nudity, public sex and many tent cities with a disregard to tax payers as they look down at us as I won’t lie, I’ve beenhomeless more times than I can count since 13 but I knew right from wrong and have never taken a government hand out. Just like these gays on disability not workin but just on drugs and hooking up also in public but again it’s aloud cause we don’t want to offend. Well let me tell you most ppl don’t care. I’ve had the conversation with regard to them not caring when I watched a mother tell her 2 children to peddle faster, and their response…. Well they should mind their own business, and I mean a room of 10 gay guys with me being the only one to be offended let alone considerate of another person let alone children

Inequity huh? Well tell that to my mother when we came from poverty in a multicultural area in winnipeg. My mom asked for help at school with us. She was told by the principle that we were stupid and that we don't get help because we were white. Now I didn't believe her but fast forward 30 plus years and my daughter in victoria was pushed aside and a native boy who happened to be a friend of mine her son was behind in reading so took my daughters spot. My daughter was severely intellectually disabled. They told me because she's white that's why she was put aside. Yeah. These people know they have privlege. I literally worked with a native guy who i was buying fish off him. He proceeded to tell me all the ways that he and his people take advantage of us. I finally told him I don't care but best to keep to himself oh then there's the time me and my family went up north and paid to see a indigenous show in their log house. We were dancing really having fun until speakers held us captive as proceeded to tell us all about how we took their lands. Talking about fish farms and one got hurt protesting on private lands that they claim is their land etc. Another time while at a dance with clients another worker came up to me. She was native. I commented about her client I knew and he was getting better. She tells me all of how she was getting him better. I asked for information to maybe help my niece who is disabled metis. She then calls me a colonizer....at a disability function!! I was also a foster parent to a native boy who had add adha and fa's. Did you know that there are o ly a handful of native foster parents?? Why is over 80% of foster kids native? Also up island I k ew of paramedics in a small indigenous community. They told ne that on doggy day the kids get dropped off for the weekend so parents can go drink. One teacher told me when I was pregnant and had our native foster son. She said the natives look to a past and we...pointing at my belly...we look to a future for our kids. It's true. Natives living on reservations are stuck in a past and it's their elders that keep them there they oppress themselves.

I am on long term disability and paid through insurance (Canada Life) via a work contract. When I was forced to go off work from my disabilities, I eventually landed on LTD and have been for almost 2 decades. I can tell the insurance co. Will definitely clawback CDB if Its Not protected somehow, by the way they force me to apply for CPP disability every few years and part of the letter always explains they can take back any CPP to recoup what they've paid me over the years. I keep getting denied CPP for 1 of 3 reasons, the other 2 I qualify. CPP disability has a cutoff, if you haven't paid into CPP for awhile (I think it's a year, but definitely not very long). In my case it's been 2004 since I was able to work fulltime and pay into CPP each week on my paycheques. Despite paying CPP for a few decades before that, the break since gives them room to deny. But the fact the insurers are gung ho to recoup the CPP and force me to keep applying or lose my benefits, means they will 100% try to profit from CDB if they can. I'm hopeful the CDB will help change my life. 1200/mo is not enough to survive on. It wasn't 20yrs ago, it's worse now. I'm pretty pessimistic about it, but a small part of me has some hope that human decency will win over profit, despite proof to the contrary usually.

I`m on CPP disability (well below poverty) and the one big question I`ve been asking for years now, has yet to be answered by anyone. WHEN? Before, or after my wife and I are put out on the street to starve?
