They actually do. Maybe not in this presentation, but they do. Simple research would tell you areas such as southern Ontario and amber Valley in alberta have been spoken about at length. Just because you don't see it? Doesn't mean it's not there.

I am a grade 12 student in Toronto and I am basing my history essay off of the cultural genocide that took place within in the Indigenous peoples community, and this presentation has been so inspiring and so helpful. Your work is amazing and it is so important for not only Indigenous peoples but for all people to understand the true history of Canada.
@booishoois3094 жыл бұрын
It was not a genocide. Firstly, the word 'genocide' was not even invented until 1943. Which is not to say the action did not exist prior to that, only that it was named at that time because of the holocaust. So we can agree the word did not exist. There was certainly war and colonization before 1943. So there is debate on the proper word for what happened to indigenous people in Canada. Were they conquered? Defeated? Colonized? Was it genocide? I would argue they were simply in the way of European expansion. Europeans came to North America and were light years ahead in terms of technology. There was already an MO for colonization from places like Africa, and compared to how Africans were treated, I would argue Native Americans were treated quite well. Europeans absolutely could have wiped out 100% of the indigenous population if genocide was the motivation. It wasn't. In the 20th century, and beyond indigenous population in Canada has grown faster than non-indigenous population. To me that does not meet the definition of the word genocide if you think about the 1943 context in which it was conceived. Contrarily what seems to be taboo is the notion that indigenous leaders do not actually favour an outcome to reconciliation. They want it to drag out indefinitely, and to be dual citizens of sovereign nations which receive subsidies from the Canadian government forever.

Ab original means with out originality according to structure of grammar ,Grammar = was for the Grammarians who were the lawyers in the old days .Grammar gram = weight mar means to hinder thus using weighted words to hinder .First nations is the term the blokes in Parliament want you to use ,you will lose your sovereignty and your ability to claim because they will put you in the fiction world like everyone else by stepping into this fiction jurisdiction like they make men and wo- men PERSONS in statute law .No you are native people ,original for the most part ,there were people here before you but for sake of argument you are the originals do not take their bribes .

Bob, thank you for confirming my thoughts about retail branding using First Nation co-branding in a respectful manner which leads to economic development and opens doors to retail businesses building positive relationships with First Nations. Its no secret that non-aboriginal businesses that build respectful relationships with First Nation customers open their doors to First Nation business and word travels fast when a 1st Nation customer is treated with respect and fairly by a retail business.

so apparently you've never heard of L'Anse aux Meadows. If your going to be talking about European contact especially in the context of Canada you should probably actually do some research before perpetuating the Columbus myth. I would say that this is a much more significant first contact for Canadian natives than some Spaniard who accidentally found the Caribbean and never came anywhere close to canada. If your going to spark discourse its probably a good idea to get your facts straight.
