I want to buy a naked cake and wrap it. Do i have to use buttercream to "glue" the wrap? Can i do the day before and put the cake in the fridge? I'm a begginer. Thank you ❤
@CakeQueenTanya16 күн бұрын
That is correct, you can frost your cake with a light coat of buttercream and apply your edible sheet similar to the steps in this video

You can apply it directly to the buttercream if fondant is not preferred

Can and how would you reheat solid chocolate?
@CakeQueenTanyaАй бұрын
Yes, I prefer the double-boiler method over the stove. But you can also use the microwave by doing 30 second intervals and stirring between each set making sure the chocolate didn’t burn

What kind of buttercream are you using? Is it more stiff or smooth?
@ashleerobinson5Ай бұрын
@@CakeQueenTanya thank you so much for responding . I learned to smooth but now I got another problem since it’s hot and humid it’s like I still see through the cake when I frost but I added more powder sugar and it seem to help . Learning this consistency is hard. I usually go three coats. Thin then thick then thin again to smooth it

@CakeQueenTanya Many thanks for your reply. I did make the cake. Hubby was very impressed. Can you please advise where you bought the large sugar crystals from and what they are called? I could only find small crystals, which took quite some time to add to the cake
@CakeQueenTanyaАй бұрын
@patgriffiths1315 you’re welcome! Im glad your husband loved it 😊 As for the crystals I use rock candy and break it up to the size I would like. It is a tedious process adding them to the cake so I try to keep them a manageable size. I have seen some pre-made crystals at Hobby Lobby in the cake section but here is what I use amzn.to/3Wb5oUX
@patgriffiths1315Ай бұрын
@CakeQueenTanya Thank you so much for replying. Yes, hubby loved it. This was also out of my comfort zone, but I loved the challenge. I've just looked on Amazon for the candy crystals, says 'currently unavailable', could be I'm in the UK, but I now know what to look for. Once again, thank you for sharing your beautiful cake and all your help

Its superb .. can u help me with acrylic cake spacer .. any idea how much 6inch round acrylic cake spacer can handle weight of cake ?
@CakeQueenTanya5 ай бұрын
Not sure if this will answer your question but one of my personal tips is to never put real cake on top of a spacer. It’s a personal preference that I stick to for the sake of gravity and my sanity 😅 So all my cakes with a spacer will always have a cake dummy on top of it. For the cake in the video only the bottom tier is real cake. Hope this helps!

That's not gonna work because when it's a round tall cake with decorated candy, just one small turn in the car and the top edges of the cake will hit those narrow sides of the box, just get a bigger box they are available for the same price as those two boxes at any baking supply web or shop.
