That "intersting" Frankenstein I built to pull ice fishing gear, but it didn't work out. I scrapped it a few months back. Ended up buying a Snow Dog and haven't looked back since.

For $550 I’d buy 5 used push mowers. 🤦🏻 This battery crap is ridiculous and two years from now you’ll need a new battery that’s already obsolete and discontinued. But hey… I love your voice! 😜

Intetesting! I have a Kawasaki FJ180v on an OREC mower. Changing the coil I made the HUGE mistake of not just removing the spade connection of the kill wire but the other end too, which was a bolt going through an insulator with a thin, bent copper strip on part of the plate holding the carb springs. When I unbolted, the hidden underneath copper thing fell down but I was able to recover it. No info on internet so I don't know which way the bend (actually there are two) in the copper are supposed to go. Well, it fires up but my new gadget SPARK TEST*R £50 which is a one-man doodad flashes yellow meaning there is too much voltage. So I'm thinking if I can't find the proper way to turn the copper strip can I just take a bit of wire and fit it anywhere to ground it. Thanks. Liked and subbed.

I surprised you can't find any information on it...try a part manual they might have everything separated and show how it goes back together. It is always best to restore it to the original. Older engines had a flat piece of metal bolted to the engine. You just pressed it on top on the spark plug to turn it off. Thanks for stopping by and your support. Hope all goes well. THANK YOU! Ground wire caught on a stick, pulling it loose... mower would not start because it was grounding against the motor. You saved me from an expensive visit to the mechanic!

Video at 5:20 mark - the wire 'he says I don't see, I'm not going to acknowledge' was the wiring to the seat safety switch that has been bypassed. This is how Rich was able to start the mower without sitting in the seat. The focus of the video was starter replacement - but surprised that there was no mention of how dirty the area was under the air filter cover - or how dirt encrusted the pre-cleaner & air filter appeared to be. Personally, I would have cleaned that up and replaced the air filter while I was doing the starter replacement.

Out in the middle of nowhere, making a field call. With the goal in mind to get it back up and cutting, then we can address the other issues with an upsell. The wire I did not see was indeed the seat switch. The reason being there is a woman who mows, and she is about 90 lbs soaked and wet. The mower will shut off bouncing around. I have seen the same thing when kids mow. No, you should not bypass any safety features. Chuck, thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video. And going the step further, leaving a comment. I would check the manifold for a crack or leak. It needs extra richness to start even warm, so something is leaning it out. Those plastic manifolds will get a rub hole or a crack and let air in and the carb mixture will be too lean. I would remove the carb, ultrasonic it and check the manifold and the two 1/4 bolts that hold the tube to the block right behind the intake valve.

sometimes they are funny about starting without the air filter on, dirt in carb, gas tank, and/or prime not drawing enough.

Seemed to act the same way with air filter on tight. Cleaned the carb and gas tank. I was thinking it drawing too much flooding it, so waiting so many seconds, then it starts up. Thank you for your support.
