Most of the rooms here are not “beachfront” per se. it’s a compound with all the units inside a lush, green tropical setting. But there are two units (14 seconds into the video) that do face the ocean directly. But that wasn’t the one we were in, the one we were in was along the walkway. 14,000 pesos is the equivalent of $350 here in Canada, which is a LOT OF MONEY even here! The location is stunning, and Misibis Bay is certainly worthy of its 5 star rating… IF it was better run. Part of the inspiration for this video was seeing the potential for this resort, and then experiencing the huge letdowns along the way. It’s been almost 2 years since we made this video, and we’re going back again in January 2025. We may revisit this resort and see if there have been any improvements since then. Maybe there’s an opportunity to redeem themselves!

@@itstonybabyit’s about the same price as a Signature 1 in Fairmont Hotel Le Frontenac in Quebec that doesn’t even include breakfast. But of course you get what you pay for. You’ll probably get something cheaper in Boracay but Boracay is a far cry from Misibis, with its over commercialized super overcrowding and depressing sight of shanties lining the roads.

I think so? lol. I honestly don’t remember, but it’s only about an hours drive from the Mayon. I don’t think you can see the volcano directly from the resort just because how low to the water it is. Well for starters, let me be the first to thank you for the “new generation” compliment… I’m 55 now, so being considered as part of the “new generation” is rather flattering! lol. You are correct, a vacation should be a time of relaxation and disconnect. The reality of our connected modern life should be balanced with moments of simply enjoying the company of who we are with, and where we are. As Vloggers, this is especially important, and have disconnected many times to allow for that balance, and we strongly urge others to take this advice as well. The irony is, you will not see those videos, because they do not exist! However this was not one of those moments… We took this trip knowing it was going to be one of the last times we were going to be able to vlog in the Philippines, and as a result, we intentionally did our research to ensure there WAS good internet where we were staying. It fundamentally comes down to choosing to pay for a location that offered superior internet, only to be mislead when we got there. While I respect your view as to why we would want internet, the fact is we DID want internet, and our choice to book this resort was based on that.

yes, very pricey, and would be worth it if they invested a little more in maintenance and services. The location is beautiful, but once your there, you start to realize everything thats missing from what is supposed to be a 5 star resort. If they fix the things I mentioned in the video, it would be totally worth the value.

If you’ve never been there, you gotta check out the area. I’m from Canada, so we don’t see a lot of volcanoes here, but the sheer size of the Mayon is absolutely breathtaking!

I know, right? I wasn’t ready for her to get emotional over snow, I mean I’ve seen it all my life. But the realization that you have imagined it, dreamed of it, and this is your first time, really was an emotional moment for her!

Hello TeogjieSam, the Proxy Hotel is in Legazpi City, 33 Penaranda St, right where the street crosses the Tibu River. Its a great location, and very reasonably priced. We stay there quite a bit when we go back to Bicol
