so happy to have found you recently. Might be my pick for what to build any suggestions for more adds maybe want to bump it to around 150$ max to match my pod’s level of spending on their decks

I think some big upgrades that came out recently were Razorkin Needlehead and Niv-Mizzet, Visionary. They could both easily take over the game once they hit the board with Ghyrson.

Really interested in this deck but my one question was how do we ramp consistently into some of the really expensive spells?
@DungeonLearnersGuide
@DungeonLearnersGuide 7 күн бұрын
Honestly, the deck really wants Dream Halls to cast some of the more expensive spells. You could potentially cast them normally later in the game but the goal is to cheat them out, not ramp into them.

I tried building this deck a few years ago, I liked the idea of having tons of utility lands available, but I eventually ended up dismantling it after testing it for a few months - I felt it was really reliant on having Warping Wail ready against an artifact wipe, since it really struggles to rebuild since other decks have access much more draw. Also one note about the decklist, Myriad Landscape can't fetch Wastes since Wastes aren't a basic land type.. also Endless Atlas could be a nice consideration if you wanted to keep the heavy Wastes count
@DungeonLearnersGuide
@DungeonLearnersGuide 11 күн бұрын
Yeah, artifact wipes are devastating for the deck. And thanks for the shout on Myriad Landscape, I learned it was useless the day I recorded the game so it was too late for me. I was kind of just hoping it went unnoticed. 😅

All bangers! Tectonic reformation goes in every single mono red deck, and most 2 colour decks for me. Helps me keep reduce the flood risk of the ~38 land count I now stick to (which has seen me bump my win rate by about 25%)

What a great video. I like that you take time to clearly explain the cards your using and the thought process behind it. Modern KZbin seems to pack to much information in a really short time span so that nuances of deckbuilding get lost - also your approach helps people like me getting better at deckbuilding themselves. Thank you.

I just found out about Zeriam and immediately made a deck for it. While it's probably the best griffin in the game my favorite is Retaliatior Griffin which can get massive incredibly quickly. It's a shame it's three colors because it can't go in most griffin decks and I think it has really high potential, especially again burn decks.

Feligar Guardian probably was used to re-apply village bell ringer's effect? Can't see much reason to run it otherwise in your deck. Exiling and returning to battlefield type effects are super strong on cards with effects on entering. I use sorceries like Scrollshift to re-trigger artifact abilties (Mightstone and Weakstone, Meteor Golem, Angel of Ruins etc.) for lots of recurring control. Hallowed Respite is another neat one with flashback, but that only target non-legendary creatures so alot less flexible.
@DungeonLearnersGuide
@DungeonLearnersGuide Ай бұрын
That’s fair. I’m a huge supporter of blink effects in white decks considering how many ETBs the color has so I think my brain auto piloted to put Felidar Guardian in here, just assuming it would be good.

Not sure if you'll see this but i have a question about the Bullies. If i give my opponent something that triggers on the controllers endstep (something like Avaricious Dragon), can i stack it so the Bullies trigger happens AFTER the Dragon's trigger? I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding how i can abuse the Bullies since both triggers happen at the beginning of the end step, but 2 different people control the creatures.
@DungeonLearnersGuide
@DungeonLearnersGuide Ай бұрын
That’s a good question. So, technically the way it would resolve is that the active player’s trigger goes on the stack first so the Bullies would resolve first. Luckily, it doesn’t actually matter because if something like Avaricious Dragon puts a trigger on the stack it will still resolve even if the creature is no longer there. So if it’s exiled first your opponent will still discard their hand.

You cannot cast an adventure from the graveyard. You can only cast the permanent side of it.
@DungeonLearnersGuide
@DungeonLearnersGuide Ай бұрын
You can with Kess because of the way it’s worded. Since Kess specifies you can cast an instant or sorcery from your graveyard then you can cast the adventure side of the card, exile it to itself, and then still cast the permanent side later. It’s a unique interaction.
