Thank you, Tyler, for being vulnerable and sharing your story, and giving reasons why you're sharing it this way. Many, though not all, Christian ministries are set up in an authoritarian manner, and they often show many cultish tendencies. Some are far worse than others. This was heart breaking.

Wow. There are so many things I want to say. It amazes me that someone could feel ok taking so much control over another person’s life and spirituality. I hope people can hear this as a caution for their own leadership styles more than a criticism of another ministry. You clearly had close friends there and I don’t doubt they are good people at heart. Leaving a close community is deeply painful. I’ve been part of a ministry where people have sometimes left on messy terms. Unless they are legitimately unsafe, we always encourage connection and friendships. They’re always invited to come to events or stop in and say hi. One person came by recently after a year. It was beautiful. We caught up and she knows she’s still welcome. I only say this because I so wish this had been your experience. I wish you had not been so completely cut off and ostracized. That was painful and unnecessary.

This took so much bravery to share! My heart goes out to you for all the abuse you suffered. I sincerely hope you are surrounded by loving people now who will validate your experiences and help you to heal.

I wish people in comment sections would listen and listen with compassion. Instead they just leave hate comments. Thank you for being brave and sharing your story. There will always be people who would rather shame than try to be understanding. One thing I’ve learned is to not listen to people who are committed to misunderstanding you, learned that from you Mike! That type of treatment is not fair and it definitely doesn’t amplify Christ. One thing I love that the Bible says is - There WILL be joy in the morning! God bless you both, thank you for sharing and thank you for being so brave and open. ❤

What is going on here? Does this ministry try to say it's ok to be active in gay sex? If so, God help you all and deliver you from this deception. Not saying you cannot have unnatural desires. That's not a sin in itself seeing we live in a fallen world. But homosexuality is obviously a sin. I have a natural desire to have sex with beautiful women but does not make it ok just going around having sex with a bunch of women. That's called fornication. This quest basically believes he is his own God and decide what's right or wrong. That's called idolatry

When I became a christian many years ago it wasn't long before things within the system just seemed wrong. As a new believer it seemed imperative that I be "plugged into" a spot where I could be "used by God" within the "system". I always felt there was something amiss and felt like I was a rebellious believer trying to create division within the eatablishment. I believe God had been trying to tell me something as I look back now!

We have just recently made the decision to come out of the church system. While we attended small churches, (50 or less), it got to where it seemed fake. It’s hard to put into words. One church where I was just helping out for awhile with playing piano and leading the singing, the pastor began teaching things that are NOT in the Bible but Islamic. Not sure where he came up with some of his stuff. The church where we are members for the last 8 years and attended (except when called to help out somewhere else) that pastor began teaching nonsense like Jesus is our personal assistant. We can give him a message to take to our loved ones in heaven. Plus a bunch of other ridiculous nonsense. They think mean preaching is good preaching. Think Tony Hutson type screaming. When my 13 and 11 year olds keep leaning over to tell me something the preacher said isn’t in the Bible or I have to tell them the same, we have a problem. And if I don’t want my kids to lie, then how much harder is it to teach them that when the pastor is preaching lies? I think God has begun calling people out who are really following Him and willing to break away from what we have been brainwashed with which isn’t biblical.

Please have ears to hear and eyes to see what God say about homosexuals, lesbians... We pray you will acknowledge God and the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into all truth. I watched a few of your videos and thought i understood where you were going. Now I feel you are obsessed with fighiting issues. Coming from a gay man. I am very comfortable supporting and being a part of my local churches. We have an agree to disagree relationship. We support one another in the best way we can. I attend services, support their groups and etc. I take from the messages what I can and stay silent on the rest. I am helping them in a couple of areas that I am able to. Your post makes the person not in a church turn further away from the church. I hope you find a positive neutral ground soon. I fear everyone you lead away from the Lord will be on you.

I do not hate you at all. But what is the difference between you and I. I repented of my sexual immorality. I took the bull by the horns and crucified these desires. That is called repentance. It is a battle to serve our CREATOR, GOD, KING. I have not had sex for decades. The Chinese pastor Watchman Nee lived out his last 20 years in a communist prison. The commies killed him. No one can be sexually immoral. Marriage and sex between a man and a woman is the standard. That is it.

Idk how I found your channel but I definitely know it has to do with God. I have been a Christian my whole life but kind of in and out of the church. I am now married to my wife and on the journey with God again..but, being a lesbian is kind of different in the church especially living in the south and I didn’t have anyone to relate to. But, you have given me courage to be who I am and still love god! Thank you!

My hope for you is that in your search for truth you would be led back to the simple gospel of Jesus in the Bible.

I agree 100 percent about taking the Lord's name in vein. Those are my exact arguments. Don't do evil things and justify it with God's name!

I was in this system for over a decade. I was pushed out because I took a stand for a liberal theological position of inclusivity and acceptance. I also went outside the “box” when it came to worship and ministry. Finally, I got pushed out in what became a conservative purge. The system is very real and it will eat its own if allowed to continue. I have been deconstructing for many years and struggle with religious PTSD due to the abuse I endured both in the system and after being pushed out.
