So do local travel nurses just make the base pay without the stipend? If so I'll be making way less than I normally make. Or is it like a percentage of the regular travel nurse.

This is my exact experience. I don’t like working bedside because of this. I’m just stating right now for experience, I have 1 year. I’m aiming for minimum 2 then bounce and do travel nursing or remote nursing.

This is why I don’t want to be a nurse anymore Im a Gna and I’m tired of the abuse every facility I go . I experience it all. I’m looking into home aide and changing my major. I’m done.

I am curious if I were to transition into nursing after a couple years in the field and pursued a pmhnp program, would I still need to pay for preceptorship if I am already clinically licensed in psychotherapy?

No money in this world can pay you th stress you endure during only one shift in hospital. Dealing not only with sick people thats the least problem, but so many disrespectful chiefs, head nurses, staff, rude patients for no reasons. And they ,,have to be always right" and the nurse is the one in ,,wrong".That is fucken crazy. By time you lose your self respect and your mental health is been affected. Like you re nurse and shut up and handle anything, whether it is disrespect , insult rage its.

I am on my second contract and girl!!!!!! It was the best decision that I’ve made in my life. I did it to finish up school.

I absolutely lovee local travel! My daughter is still small so I can’t just travel how I want. I still make awesome money, 3x as much as I’d make as staff! I live in Indiana so cost of living isn’t terrible but it has went up!

It's great seeing how other hospitals and nurses do things. No matter how high tech, rich and awesome a hospital is, at some point they will take you into a back room and show you a piece of equipment, where they excitedly pull a sheet off like a magician revealing a trick and it will be powered by a fat hampster in a wheel. You are like, "Are you serious! But? Everything else here is so modern and cutting edge. Even ghetto hospitals have better than this! How is this possible?" And they just stare back at you blankly. Then you realize, they have no idea what the outside world is like.
