It reminds me of a David Attenborough documentary where he puts so much emotion and drama into interpreting and speaking for nature just going about it's business.

Hello thanks for this video. So clarifying. Do you have any suggestions like the books about dramaturgy or being a dramaturg that you find most useful and important? Thanks in advance

Got curious after seeing a credit for Dramaturg in the program for a wonderful performance by New Zealand's India Ink Theatre Company, here in the US. Still don't understand it, I'm afraid. From the description here and elsewhere, it seems like something a director would hate, a third wheel looking over their shoulder, interjecting ideas they don't need. Too many chefs. But apparently, that's not the case. I suppose it makes sense in practice, and maybe it's not something a non-participant can understand.

No we need to scrap rte. Its fake news. They constantly talk down to youth and call everyone right wing when they don't agree with them. They also replaced Claire Byrnes show with some other equivalent where again their talking about multiple issues and not the main topic of discussion and ending with "irish people are lovely". They also constantly live in their own bubble. Claire Byrne went on a holiday during covid and then demonised others for doing the same and bringing delta in. Its beyond stupid of why we're still paying a tv licence.

I'm sorry. Although there were some very good tips, the way the information was put over was in some ways childish. I would have preferred it to be straight, but that's just me. I have a lot of information on what writers come up against. And there were some excellent tips on how to overcome these in this video which was missed out on the others, and by famous writers, so, all in all thank you.

What exactly is being "mediated" or "translated" by a dramaturg? Furthermore, what's being "edited" and "sculpted"? The definition offered is extremely vague. A nothing burger -

A good tip if you're a newbie....Cut your teeth on your local Authority applications, they're usually shorter Excellent strategy tip from a friend.... have a scale-able version of your project, so that if you don't get big money, you can do a 'work in process' version of the work to develop from... the €250 version, the €2k version & the €15k version... and then go back to them to sell the dream harder ( 'if I had big money, think of how much better my work would be...') The budget???.... google the price of all your materials, pick the more expensive quotes... so you've given yourself a 'contingency'

I have never seen a clumsiest system of application than that of Arts Council. Its so cumbersome, it distracts people, it stresses people and let people get lost. Reading documents after documents, they are simply designed to confuse and discourage people. Why can't be a simple I.e. details, names, proof of Id, proofs for programmes and simply let people to submit what they want to do or have been doing. With the ways of RedTapes that the software systems are developed, it kills arts, aspirations and true potentials of the arts & creativity. In time like Covid, Arts Council should encourage the creative people to be part of the arts council, instead it repells people. OMG wish this current software systems are dumped . Its an insults to the soul, mind and talents of people in the UK. Its really really bad. Its not only sorry but pathetic and humiliating. Will AC think of it?
