I’m strongly considering an xlt or lariat and just order replacement platinum seats for the front. Most of the extra expense in the higher trim levels is cosmetic, except for the seats.

So on the several 22 cummins that have failed do you have a culprit? Is there a common denominator on those 6.7's or is it several issues? I unfortunately bought a 2022 cummins prior to knowing all the issues and now I'm freaking out. If there is anything i can do to avoid or prolong the eminent failure please let us know, im hoping for the best but trying to prepare for the worst.

I work for a towing company and operate 10 Ram 5500 cummins..and 10 6.7 international and M2 freightliner haven't had any of this? New truck or 2 purchased every year. They are beaten daily towing excessive extended idle time.. only major problem we had was the Ram front driveshaft u-joint failing total destruction. Transfercase split in two. Witing harness, hole in floor and brake lines..65mph total unscheduled rapid destruction 😊

Check the speakers Paul, my Platinum had the wrong door speakers installed on the passenger side both front and back, the drivers had the "B&O". Both paper, but the BO had rubber surrounds with a stiffer cardboard. Still all junk, but may be why the system sucks

I know this might be a stupid question but after driving new rams, a new powerstroke and getting time in the L5P which brand would you say fits you the best and also for a man starting out which brand would you recommend yourself for someone else to use? I’m just curious I’ve been following you for awhile now and over the years you were strictly ram and now you’re kinda stepping your toes into the water for different things. So far ive only owned 2 6.7 Cummins a 2015 2500 68rfe, 2008 6.7 g56 and a 02 LB7 Dmax. I’m looking to get into the hauling business here soon and I’m in the market for a truck at the moment but I’m so torn between the 3 honestly so that’s why I was looking for someone with knowledge and experience to see what your opinion was.

Stay away from the new Cummins trucks. You can’t go wrong with either the Ford or GM. I think GM still has the better transmission but I like my Ford better overall.
@repairvehicle
@repairvehicle 7 күн бұрын
Things to know. 2019-up Cummins has major design flaws with lifters, no bearings and engine failure will happen. Powerstroke CP4 is known as a failure point on any diesel, unless you run fuel additive with lubricity to prevent it from happening. Duramax gm designed and built transmission with fake Allison label purchased from Allison, otherwise people will not consider duramax. No problematic cp4, however crankshafts prone to breaking causing severe engine damage.
@jeffelmore6652
@jeffelmore6652 7 күн бұрын
@@repairvehicle that explains why I’ve seen numerous guys weld the crankshaft on those Duramaxs. Never knew that was a major issue until recently. I have a good friend that owns an L5P and so far he’s very happy with it. My only thing with GM really is the IFS which most people don’t mind but for me Id rather have a solid axle Incase of off-road situations. Me personally I’ve been looking into the F450s but a lot of guys have told me to get 17-19 because the 10 speed auto isn’t really that good in the 20-22s compared to the 6 spd in the 17-19s. I love the looks of the rams and I’ve personally owned 2 6.7s and never had any majors issues however I have read where the 19s and up where having issues so you saying that must mean it’s true. Which is such a shame because the Cummins platform use to stand by their name and their products but I guess greed is really what is ruining these manufacturers. Thank you for your input much appreciated.

I'm wondering why it seems the on road manufacturers have to make their engines more complex than necessary. It doesn't make sense why the off road segments can more or less take a tier 2 engine that has a fixed geometry turbo and no egr and make it tier 4 compliant by only putting a doc and scr canister behind them

@Parker-ub8xu
@Parker-ub8xu 8 күн бұрын
They stay cleaned out passively if you run bio fuel. If you’re running dino diesel it will fill the filter up and do a regen like normal. The regen is very fast though compared to any other truck I’ve had. It will clean itself out in a just a few miles.

My 2021 3500 6.7 standard output 68RFE got up to 210 briefly pulling an 18,000 lb 5th wheel in the Rocky Mountains on an 8% grade. This reading was in the center of the transmission temperature gauge between cold and hot. Usually runs 160 to 190 in normal towing. Changing fluid and filters at 60,000

One thing about RAM, besides having the best diesel on the road, is they correct things fast. CP 4 recall replaced with the CP 3 for 2019 and 2020s. Also bad motors for the 2022s. I know of many failed CP 4s in fords and chevys.

I use to own a 2015 6.7 and before I got it deleted the only way I could tell it was in regen is when I’d have the truck parked and it would go into a high idle and you could smell the DEF being burned from the tailpipe area. Also when pulling a load if it was going up hill and it went into regen I could tell the difference in power wise but other than that you can’t really notice it like the older preDef trucks.
