I enjoyed your presentation and your well informed on the subject matter. I haven't shot since June of 2022 but when I did shoot, I used a Nikon D5200 in shutter priority at around ISO 800 maybe up to 1600 because my right handshakes and I wear glasses as well which I would use the diopter adjustment to about 2 + to about 2 1/2+. I've been looking for someone om KZbin and this reminded me of things I forgot oh ya, I'm 70 yrs different from when I started with my mom's Kodak Browne

Hi thanks so much for showing your lifetime experience with me as it is something I would love to do but finances won't let me. The excitement on your face says it all. Wildlife is fantastic and very precious. So good for mental health to.

I wanna toss out the walmart brand tripod ONN , is pretty solid for 29 dollars. When good ones are easy 150 and up you can break a 29 dollar one and feel ok about it.

For me every setting has it's purpose. I am fast as light changing all settings which gives me total control over every aspect achieving the picture I took in my mind before I press the release button. That's why I call myself a pro.

You are literally the best youtube photographer out there!! I love your videos and I am improving so fast watching YOU! My profile pic of this Osprey was an accident shot. Saw what I thought was a gull flying way over my head and our two story home. No way did I think my Nikon 70mm to 300mm zoom lens could get that shot! I panned with the birds flight and got outstanding results for what I thought it would be! No I could not focus without help because it was max zoom beyond that len's capability and I didn't even know it was an Osprey! Its sharp enough even when cropped.

In concerts i use point exposure instead of matrix and expise for the lighthed area. Minimum shutter is 1 over 60 or 80. Iso i try to keep under 800 if i can.

Outstanding video and photos Simon, we are heading on cruise around Svalbard in about 5 weeks and hoping to see these and other wonderful creatures. I am wondering if you can tell us approximately how close you came to the animals and the focal length of the photos you took. I recently purchased the canon R10 and the sigma 150-600 lens. Thanks

There is a penalty a high shutter speeds. If shooting from a moving train at say 1 over 8000 it will make straight posts appear bent in the photo. I learned that the hard way.

using the mechanical shutter rather than electronic shutter can fix this.

On my a7r2 i cannot go over 6400. It just cannot be done without looking like mush. At night is expose for the subject and do not care that the rest in underexposed. I also limit my iso to 800 and set shutter to about 1 over 60 if shooting handheld.

Thank you for your video, very easy to understand answering many of my questions. I have a canon R50, currently I have the 50mm, & ER-EOS R mount adapter. Will I be loosing quality using EF lenses? Can I also use a EFS lens with this mount? Quality of EFS lens? I'm looking for a telephoto lens, (on a budget). Does the multiple of 1.6 work for all used lenses in my search for secondhand EF & RF lenses?
