Tubeless are only faster when they are ran with the same pressure as a TPU. Tubeless are usually ran at a much lower pressure than TPU which makes them slower.

I was just in a local shop and tried on both the Utopia against the Utopia Y and I indeed noticed a pressure points in the front due and seemed to be due to not having the front padding. The regular utopia was 50% off but no way, so I will wait for the Y to get the 50% off as well then 😅. Nice looking helmet though.

I will make a video. Fast bike once it gets moving but needs to be ridden fast all the time. Anything under 25mph it didn’t punch like my ostro. Love my Ostro. Was marginally faster than ostro but for 9k was not enough of a gain. Next bike will be ostro 2 or dogma F

@@addictcyclist Ohh I see. I am purchasing the same S5 and I actually own a Giant Propel SL 0 with Red, but my Propel is 2019 which is fast but is a bit oldie. I am still thinking if I doing a good decision or if I should keep the Giant and cancel the purchase of the S5, but since there're 5 years of difference I can notice the geometry and frame technology has changed significantly since then. So, thtat's why I was wondering about your decision to sale it.

Great video, thanks, currently on Lake's but tempting to switch. I have a width of around 110mm (left) and 105mm (right) with a length of around 260mm - 265mm (left) and 250mm - 255mm (right) - odd sized I know ;). The Sidi size chart I found states I should go for a EU 42,5 size for 26,4cm length. Based on your video, and assuming your max foot length is 270mm, the chart I'm looking at states you need a EU 43,5 size for 27 cm length. Are you saying you took 2 sizes bigger, i.e. EU 45,5 (which is linked with a 28,4 cm foot length)? Thank you for answering, this will greatly help in my search getting the best fit!

Age old debate. Weight or rotating resistance. iirc Orange seal recommends 1-2oz of sealant. Weight weenies use 1oz. 280 g for tire + 35g for 1 oz sealant = 315 vs 280g for regular tire with TPU. Seems negligible either way. Can 35 grams be felt spinning up?
@addictcyclist
@addictcyclist Ай бұрын
On my Ostro running a 250g gp5 clincher + 25g TPU. 275g total. Gp5 st r 280g + 35 for 1 oz, 70 for 2oz. I run 2 oz. I can feel that. Not at speed, but at initial acceleration. Feels muted and less responsive. All personal preference.

@@addictcyclist I've often wondered what effects the sealant sloshing around adds to watts or also to handling dynamics at high speeds. My understanding is that rolling resistance tests tests tires dry. But maybe I'm wrong there.

You are wrong boy, rolling resistance doesn't come from weight. It does come from elasticity of materials. Latex is the material with less rolling resistance which is in par with some tubeless setups.

The Corsa Pro are great racing tyres but aren’t very robust for training……they are easily punctured and wear quickly, good luck. Not sure why you find TPU more responsive, the science begs to differ……
@addictcyclist
@addictcyclist Ай бұрын
Tpu is lighter and less rotating weight. 25g tube vs 80 2oz sealant per tire. Unsprung weight matters when looking to spin up and feel punchy. Tubeless may be less rolling resistance per the science. Science also proves less rotating weight at outer most part of the circumference is faster to spin up.
