Hello sergeant. Bones, how many individual track parts does the entire chain have per side? I found this model in my basement, but I don't know if all the chain parts are there because they were open in the box. :-)

Hi what are those tracks did you say that you got for it?
@SgtBones2 жыл бұрын
Leo 2 tracks from Bronco, ( www.scalemates.com/de/kits/bronco-ab3528-leopard-2-mbt-workable-track-link-set--115074 ) don`t know if you can still get them but if not t-rex makes them in the same format and RFM has them too, all of them go together in the same way and look great
@Emtbtoday3 жыл бұрын
Only 2 ever built so your options are limited if sticking to accuracy! I think it would look great in the ambush camo!

I love Dragon kits but they are over priced. Other model companies are offering the same quality detail but have full interiors for the same price or cheaper that Dragon kits. TAKOM-MENG-RFM. I hope these up and rising companies can give dragon some competition in the variants of tanks.
@SgtBones5 жыл бұрын
The biggest problem at the moment is how many companies make Panzer III kits? If I am not mistaken, just Dragon and Tamiya, which limits the amount of options we have. I would love to see for example Border Models, or Takom do a Panzer III variant, but until then, we seem to be stuck with Dragon. At least the kits do pop up cheap on E-Bay! ;)

Hey Sarge, nice to see a review from someone who knows what they're talking about! Nice score with the Echelon decals too. The only model of a Scorpion I know is the AFV Club one so I suppose you've already looked at that one. If it hasn't got the specific barrel can you get aftermarket ones? Or would that mean changing too much of the kit itself?
@SgtBones5 жыл бұрын
A good friend hooked me up with a Scorpion, I am bilingual and had searched for one using the german spelling! As for a barrel, I need to check again but if I remember correctly the Scorpion comes with a metal barrel. Or did you mean the Abrams? If so, no need of a different barrel, it is fine in plastic right out of the box, really well formed, RFM sets high standards in this area.

It's a really nice kit, but if you can get the movable tracks from trumpeter or Armour Track models, the T-156 version, then the kit is perfect....although the link in length tracks will still look good for a purely static model on a flat surface.

better lighting would improve review quality greatly.
@SgtBones6 жыл бұрын
That's nice of you to inform me of that, will you also buy me better lighting? I am not paid for this, I do it because I want to, so if you would like to see better lit reviews help me out with buying me a backdrop, light shields, different lights to use when building or making videos etc. etc. OH YEAH, let's see some of your videos!!! Your empty channel speaks volumes about your abilities! Get the hint??
@nancirobinson99486 жыл бұрын
honest assessment of your review. if you are not open to a critique and want only compliments to stroke your ego you are in the wrong place dude. i wasnt saying it to be a dick... but when you are telling us about what we are supposed to be seeing on a sprue and i cant really see it your review is next to useless. additionally my empty channel says nothing about my abilities... that you would assume a person can be stereotyped by youtube channel content is a very closed minded assumption on your part - possibly induced by high levels of estrogen.
@SgtBones6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps if you had watched the video you would see me complain about the light myself! I don't have money for lighting like in a studio, you can clearly see what I show, only complaint I had was the shadow being thrown from one of my lights...which, if removed would make it harder to see and build models. Your "critique" was a useless statement which I know already, if you want to be helpful buy me professional lighting, give me tips that I can do for free, but dumping a comment without helping is USELESS! And I can't do anything about your estrogen levels, sorry you have a problem with it.

a huge improvement over the old Italeri kit ! Thanks for sharing !
@SgtBones7 жыл бұрын
Most assuredly, although apparently due to the lack of a lot of information somewhat improperly made...but David Byrden has the knowledge on how to get it closer to the existing photographs. What I find exemplary with the kit is it does come with enough extras to make it a militarized Tiger if one so wishes. And the simple fact that compared to the Italeri kits the detail and fit is much better. Having built an Italeri late recently, which surprised me in that it wasn't that bad a kit, I am even more delighted by the much better engineering of Rye Fields offerings, not to mention better plastic and details.

Looks like a very interesting build Sgt Bones.
@SgtBones7 жыл бұрын
It is coming along nicely right now, all the needed parts to make it a standard Tiger with gun are there, and it goes together quite well. A small disappointment to me were the way the torsion bars mount to the hull for working suspension, they have very small attachment points and considering the kit has workable tracks that sort of made me wonder. But it is still quite the kit for the money!
@militarymodellerpaul59327 жыл бұрын
Sgt Bones. Well you will have a great version, if you placed it next to normal Tiger 1’ now that would be something of a display. I’d consider fixing the suspension in place “no movement” otherwise you could have to try fixing it late on.
@SgtBones7 жыл бұрын
Going to do just that, fixed in place. Next one I build though will have fully functional suspension, I have played with part of this one to make an adapter to fix the torsion bars properly. Will most likely buy the RFM Fehrmann kit soon!

The missing parts were NOT takoms fault, I got the kit basically for free because parts were apparently stolen from the kit. The Customer service from Takom is absolutely fantastic, quick turn around, fair prices and really quick delivery. Takom has become a definite favorite for me.
