It makes your statement all the more powerful. But true, our generation has gone to shows like SpongeBob being played for over 3 hours daily. Though I have mixed selected episodes from cartoons I have on DVD. That I watched differently for Saturdays and weekdays, from way before everyone was binging 1 particular show at time. However, I did get sucked into watching Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers for awhile. But I might go back to viewing my own mixed assortment programming, again sometime.

Yeah, I don’t know what it is, but looking back, it seemed like the seemingly most mundane cartoons at the time of our childhood, are the one that are the most impactful in our memories now?! 🤔

The effects were early Dr. Who. But, the concept is terrifying, a bit like today's opinion on aging, we seem to have no use for the older generation, at least the type with ethics, kindness, and wisdom. The Giver reminds of this movie.

I first saw the TV series when I was a kid in the mid 70s. Didn't think much of it. Then I saw the movie on TV with my grandmother a couple years later. Blew my mind! Love Peter Ustinov's character! "All the people all the time!"

@rholanram4 ай бұрын
I don’t remember that one, but I’m definitely going to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation! 👍
@charlesballard52514 ай бұрын
A few years ago I took a couple of Saturday classes at a local community college in voice-over work. The instructor was giving a power-point presentation and the familiar still of Sean Connery in his Zardoz costume standing on the beach with the six-gun in hand showed up onscreen. It was a bit low-res, so if you didn't know who it was, you wouldn't have been able to tell. The instructor said he needed an image to represent SOMETHING RIDICULOUS so he typed that into Google and that was the image he got. He then said to not be ashamed if we didn't know who or what we were looking at. I raised my hand and said, "Excuse me...". He said, "Yes"? I replied, "Sean Connery, Zardoz, 1975, directed by John Boorman". His eyes nearly popped out of his head and his jaw dropped as he exclaimd, "HOW THE HELL DID YOU KNOW THAT?!?!?!". To which I replied, "I'm a fan-boy from way back. Show me a still from any movie no matter how obscure from George Melies "La Voyage dans la Lun" to "The Empire Strikes Back" and 9 out of 10 times I can tell you something about it. You could have heard a pin drop.
