Here because of the Rolling Stone article. Never heard of them before, but this shit absolutely slaps. Very ahead of its time in 2003. Tragedy that these guys and their art never got a chance to become what they could have become.

Not really aheads of its time since this sounds like old power pop from the 70s, but a fantastic band and album indeed

@@lucianoriva6979 Yeah, but the combination of old power pop and pop punk structure wasn't really being done in 2003 and wasn't done in a widespread way until a decade or so later.

What happened to these guys is terribly tragic. I have always heard about them and this album, but this is the first time I have listened to it and it's great. They remind me so much of The Clash with a little Buzzcocks thrown in. It reminds me of a different era in Rock n Roll. It would have been interesting to see the direction their music would have went over time. So sad, but at least they left a mark.

It's unfair because of their untimely passing i can't help but think that hampered the progression and forward movement of the transatlantic English-American punk style here in the states, every year that's passed since then it is more noticable how things have changed, I'm old i feel it. Now all we have is hardcore

Not one filler song. Back to back slappers and this band got me through some of the toughest times of my life. Forever indebted. I had a jacket I put their logo on the back and I got to party w Matt Hollywood of Brian Jonestown Massacre for a night bc of it. Which was as wild as y'all could imagine.
