He is reciting a blessing of sort, lack of a better word. It’s difficult to translate because it uses phrases and words that hold double/multiple/hidden meaning, and would require years of tutelage to fully understand. A direct translation would serve it no justice. So a blessing will suffice😊

Thankyou for compiling these videos...don't want to be insenstive, but thank god we lost the green BNZ building on the cnr of Colombo and Hereford - it was pulled down well after the shakes.

Very good. I was in NZ in 1997 with a brand new digital video camera, filming everything that moved (as you did), and I went up the Cathedral tower whilst my wife sat in the square. I’ve searched all my footage but can’t find any from up the tower, and I’m sure I would have filmed it. Can’t find any. So I’m very grateful you managed to preserve it 😮

It would be great if you could do an update on this video as there has been so much change, much of it positive.

To do that I first would have to book a flight/holiday to New Zealand, because I live in the Netherlands... Would like to go, but maybe I can't, also because I emphatically hate the covid-hysteria.

Great to have this record of the pre-earthquake city. Was really vibrant back in the day. Gone forever unfortunately :( Bit of bad timing with the much bigger, more devastating Japan EQ though 2.5 weeks later. As after that it pretty much disappeared off the International news cycle.

This video shows how the once vibrant and lively city center has died at the hands of the bureaucracy. Govt control has held back the progress in the CBD so much that most bussiness has moved away to the outter city.
@katk52055 жыл бұрын
Thats actually wrong. My aunt and uncle are both on the council. Ones a town planner and the other a civil engineer. They took their time so they could plan out the city to be better than before. Often a city evolves over a very long time span making it a real mess to try and implement new technologies and ideas into. With Christchurch the slate was wiped clean and they were able to redesign a CBD to fit with today. It was nothing to do with bureaucracy, it was all to do with having the chance to redesign a city and wanting to do it right.

Excellent video, you show the life and happiness, vibrancy of 2009 and now the somnabulistic death throes of 2013. Although its changing now, most of the fences are gone and new buildings are going up. The Cathedral should be sorted out in a few months.

Sadly, thanks to the heritage trust it won't be sorted for the next few decades now.

Unfortunately, John Key, the prime minister, has sold New Zealand out to the new world order and aligned us with mad man Obama...so now we have a daily spraying into our once pristine skies of toxic chemicals including Aluminium Nano particles, Strontium, Barium, and other I don't know about yet.....and the reason I don't know about them is because of the total denial and secrecy that surrounds this spraying program. The thousands of videos on KZbin , from all over New Zealand, support my claims.....just search for Chemtrails or Geoengineering in New Zealand....our misleading government cannot hide the truth, they just deny it exists.....But mother nature doesn't make clouds like these.....and you won't find them in any books either......so New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, and Britain , the 5 EYE countries are now all subject to this daily toxic spraying.....New Zealand is no longer clean and green , thanks to our
