I’m very fascinated seeing a lady superintending a construction project. Your work looks impressive but I didn’t see any cover blocks used during the casting of the floor slabs , getting your concrete cover is very essential too .

I know that you dont have screen porches in Ghana but is that something your company can do? I am interested in creating a screened in porch at my house. I have seen sun rooms in Ghana but not screened porches.

@@BUILDWITHCHALLYI am interested in the screened porch. I have a porch but it's not screened in. I'm not sure what you mean by retractable? If you Google screened porch images, you will get an idea of what I mean. It's an enclosure or enclosed porch with screens or what you call nets.

@@kanti8942 private in the sense that it’s not opened to the public,fishermen don’t come there ,no road access to the beach and there’s no entrance unless you have a property there .

Usually, there’s no written contract bidding the two parties so you can’t sue should anything goes wrong. I asked a builder for contract and it was like as if I’m coming from a different planet 😅

It’s not a common practice here but some builders do it .Run from any builder who isn’t willing to have a contract .

It is a bit funny, to put the 50p micron rubber only under thd pillar feet to avoid water entering thdcwalls of your building. Then youvrais the walls with blocks, wuch work likevsponges and then you attach bitumen paint only to the outside of thd walls without any water proof rubber. Then you invite another water into an already water logged area vy compacting the inside soil. Does this make sense??? I my eyes "NO"

@@achimbonczek7944 your message isn’t so clear because of your errors but first of we painted both internal & external walls to prevent water ingress ,we placed dpms under all columns bases(waterproofing ) ,we placed dpms under all ground beams (another water proofing ) then finally over the laterite to prevent rising damp .Adding water for compaction serves a different purpose as i mentioned in the video .It helps reduced air voids and increases the soil density .

@BUILDWITHCHALLY OK, that's fine. It was not mentioned in the comment. To put waterproof rubber under the line foundations (with trenches) is according to Ghanaian experts, not enough on a long distance view. They should be wrapped around the complete wall until the soil level. They will be attached on top of the bitumen paint to protect the complete foundation wall, in and out

@ wrapping the whole foundation is expensive that is why we paint the bitushield to protect the walls of the foundation.

@BUILDWITHCHALLY I know. I am building right now at 2 places and made nahbe all mistakes in one. But in the past 12 months, there was a huge development in the Ghanaian building scene. New materials and techniques were coming from abroad, and now they are available in Ghana too. The price is always an argument, but what you can avoid at the beginning will save you much more money as if you have the damage later. But of course, it is always an individual decision

@@PolisGH you can cast right after compaction , it’s rather best to wait after filling your foundation to water down the filling material properly before compacting,I mostly leave 7-10 days.

Went for this option as well. At the time it was not that much expensive for the premix compared with the manual way. I recommend premix.

Definitely a fan @chally. Very well versed in construction principles. Interesting thoughts on premix vs man powered casting. I have had to suffer 3 days of casting for every floor for a 4 level apartment project i'm working on. I'm considering trying premix but I also worry about my workers making some $$ for their families during the slab work. Either way, would like to connect and get your thoughts especially on the mixture ratios. Very impressive content. Looking forward to more!
