I wouldn’t take either of the prelims lightly given what we have witnesses throughout the finals series. I feel Sydney and Geelong should win both prelims but given the context of this season it could be completely flipped.

I feel that Port is going to have a few issues this week against the Hawks. Port have beaten Hawthorn previously this season but the hawks given they are the in form side of the comp should win.

Nice tips, legend. I'll be tipping the Bulldogs and Sydney to win their respective games (they're pretty much both 50-50 games, aren't they). The Bulldogs, overall, have more experience when it comes to finals and probably have the better list on paper. As for the Swans, I think they're due for a Sydney Derby win that's a finals game (GWS have won all three Sydney Derby finals games so far).

With the Bulldogs vs Hawks game, that could really go either way, but I just feel that with the hawks have been in slightly better form compared to the Bulldogs in recent times. With this also being at the MCG, I feel like this will suit the hawks a bit more than the dogs. I also just feel that the Giants are more adapt to the finals like atmosphere compared to the Swans. I shouldn’t be reliant on the Giants record against Sydney in finals. However, I just have this feeling the Giants will be out for a bit of revenge after their last 2 games against the Swans.

Will be an interesting game tonight. I feel Collingwood should get up tonight as they have been in better form than Melbourne in recent times. The dees will be wanting to prove a point tonight, but given the pies record over Melbourne, should outclass them at the end.

Even though the lions have held a poor record at the MCG over the years, I just feel that they will be willing to respond from a disappointing outing against the Giants. I also feel that the pies just haven’t been able to string out 4 quarter performances in recent weeks. The Dogs will be hungry to make a big response against the Roos. It also doesn’t help that North haven’t beat the Dogs since 2019. I just feel with North, much like the pies, just can’t play for 4 quarters. West Coast will be my first real upset this round as Carlton haven’t been in good form at all in recent weeks. With Curnow, McKay and a few other players out for Carlton, I reckon the eagles can pull off a win against the grain.

Again, Collingwood didn’t string out a 4 quarter effort against Carlton. The pies were up by over 5 goals in the 4th quarter and if McGovern had of kicked straight, they would have lost. If the Pies are going to beat the Lions, they will need to bring out a 4 quarter performance. Not a 2.5 quarter performance.

Carlton vs Hawthorn was a 50/50 one for me. I backed the hawks as I feel that the blues form the past couple weeks has been disappointing. But then again, I won’t be surprised if they managed to find a way to get up.

I could see any of them getting up this week tbh. I went with the Lions as IMO they are the form team in the comp and are looking to be a threat in September. The crows form at Adelaide Oval is unpredictable, but given the dogs form the past 4 weeks, I feel it will be too risky to go against them.

It is weird that the home side have never won at Marvel on a weekday timeslot this season. Nonetheless, I feel like this streak will probably end this Friday night as given the dogs form the last 3 weeks, I feel like it will be safe to lean on them. I haven't been convinced by the demons form as of late either.

I was initially thinking the same, but with the lions having a few injuries in their defence I feel that this would leave them a little bit vulnerable. The suns normally play well at home and have beaten the lions there last year. I feel that it won't be a blowout but given the lions form the past 2 months they should get the job done. With North vs Geelong, I feel that the cats will bounce back after a really disappointing game against the dogs last week. I can definitely see north putting up a fight against geelong as they have been pretty competitive the past 6 weeks, but I feel that the cats will just out grunt the roos at the end. It also doesn't help that north haven't beaten geelong since 2015 (losing their last 12 games against the cats)

I can definitely see the suns getting up there especially as they are yet to lose at home yet. With the Lions strong form the past 7 weeks and the Suns inconsistent home and away form I feel that it is bound to break eventually.

Playing Brisbane at the Gabba is dangerous for any side right now (including Sydney), but I wouldn't be too surprised if the Swans beat the Lions, especially with Charlie Cameron out of the team. With how tight the ladder is right now, repercussions will be huge for many teams if they lose. Shall be another interesting round of footy! 😎🏉

Why did you get a strike on your channel legend? For what it’s worth for tomorrow’s match, I think Essendon should still get up as the Crows are not the best side away from home. I have also noticed that from 2018 and onwards, the crows have never been able to beat the bombers.

@@TigerTime3672 Yep, with the pies form in the past 5 weeks, its hard to go past Hawthorn. Both pies and the hawks are injury hit. Hawthorn Jack Ginnivan might play, but pies have much worse injuries. Yes, Collingwood have an advantage (due to their ladder position) but your cant go past the hawks, Collingwood are playing worse than Hawthorn in the last 5 weeks. Im tipping hawthorn just because of their form (especially against Collingwood)

@@tigerstorm47 It is weird that from 2012 and onwards the pies have only beaten the hawks just 2 times at the MCG out of 16 occasions (in 2017 and 2022) Like you though, with Hawthorn’s resurgence after their 0-5 start as well as Collingwood taking not only a wayward form line but gaining a heavy injury list, the hawks should find a way to get up in this one.

This was a hard one for me to tip tbh, I went with Hawthorn as they regain James Sicily back in the side where I feel this would be a big boost for them even though the will miss Gunston. But I can easily see Freo getting up in this one as they have had the wood over Hawthorn since 2020 as well as being in good form the past 2 months.

I can see either of those sides getting up this week tbh, I’m not 100% sold on the Saints even if Rankine is missing this week as well as not having a good record at AO. Port could take down Gold Coast considering the Suns have not beaten Port since 2011 as well as never beating Port at Metricon. Both sides have been pretty inconsistent all year but I went the home side at this as a defensive tip. I could change my tip to Freo tbh this week given Gunston will be out for the hawks this week, but given it is down at Tassie where the hawks normally play well at I wouldn’t push the trigger.
