Nice one Gary, not sure about the DJI action camera, looks good. But I am big GoPro fan and invested in quite a few of them. I have one camera mounted on the front using a K-edge mount, one on the rear under the back of the saddle on a JRC components saddle mount. Then I have a hand held GoPro mini 11 on a GoPro short hand mount which I keep in my pocket for quick deployment. Keep up the filming buddy, too cold for me at the moment. But going to Spain 🇪🇸 on 3 March for a few MTB adventures. 👌

Thanks for the like. I've used GoPro's for years as well. Needed an easy way to get good sound to the camera which either meant buying a new GoPro 13 or trying the Action 5 and Mic mini combo which was cheaper. Quite happy so far 🙂

Hi there and thanks for watching the video. The "arm" is made up of a few bits, the main rod is a "Metal handheld tripod monopod extension rod/tripod pole". AT both ends I have used a "8 Pieces camera screw adaptor" both from Amazon UK At the handlebar end I have a "PULUZ bike motorcycle camera handlebar mount" The camera is mounted using a "Ulanzi Inov8 quick release mount". Again, from Amazon. If you copy what I have written between the " " they should pop up. I hope that helps 😁

An Insta360 Go3 body, the camera is either on my helmet or the magnetic pendant. A Garmin 1040 so I know where I'm going and an Insta360 X3 360 camera (on the stick). The X3 is mounted on a quick release mount so I can move it around easily, no need to keep unscrewing it. I often have a DJI mini 3 Pro drone in the bag as well 😮

Its not always the car driver doing it deliberately, sometimes a driver just gets it wrong by mistake. I did the other day on a narrowing road in the dark. Cyclists wasn't at fault, just my mistake, she rode on unaffected and I haven't stopped thinking about it. Won't be getting caught out like that again 😢 But it just shows not all drivers are bastards, some of us do care.
@FOB-on-a-bike2 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching my video. I'm sorry to hear about your near miss and I'm glad no one was affected. I do not think car drivers are bad people. The app. I mention in my vid. lets me know how many cars pass me during a ride and most days it's over 200. Generally, the ride goes without any issues but on the very rare occasion a car gets a bit too close for comfort. I think most people are like yourself, caring and considerate of others. There are just a small minority that really seem to hate cyclists and just see us as "red light jumping" pests.
@petesig932 ай бұрын
My strategy to stop most of such close-shave passes is a simple adaptation of the Critical Mass 'corking' techniques. Simply put yourself out wide on the road so that drivers can see me very clearly and in tight places, CANNOT get past eg. in that overtake in the single-lane with centre-median.... hold your lane-space by riding in the middle. Drivers will just HAVE to slow down and wait until it is safe to overtake. I do this sort of thing routinely on urban streets with narrow lanes, and on country roads with 100kmh speed limits where I will keep left, but not so far left that drivers ignore me. Stay Safer; Ride Wider!
@FOB-on-a-bike2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my video. I also try to take the primary position in towns when the road is narrow due to bollards etc. I ride where the car left (in the uk) wheel goes most of the rest of the time, less debris. It is sometime very intimidating when you can here a car behind you not slowing down. I wish we could all just share the road, showing each other a bit more courtesy and empathy. We are all just trying to get to where we are going safely.
@petesig932 ай бұрын
1:36 - that is almost as bad as the rubbish you will see dumped on the roads of Sicily. There I think it is all due to Mafia interests holding the garbage collection contracts.
@FOB-on-a-bike2 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching my video. I have heard of the issues in Sicily, not good 😕
@ChuckFickens19722 ай бұрын
OK.... I always try and give cyclists decent space and I never want to make them feel unsafe, but.... I will tell you what really pi$$es me off and would like to hear your comments on it... I sit behind a bike for half a mile or so (maybe more) until I find a safe spot I can overtake them while giving them plenty of space, I'm happy to do that. Then we come up to a junction and/or traffic lights and I stop at them in a car but the bike rider then makes their way to the front of the queue (sometimes by hopping on the pavement) and now when it all gets going again I have to wait to pass the same cyclist for another mile. I've had this repeat several times on a journey in my car which has resulted in a 10 minute drive taking several times longer than it should. I respect cyclists and never want to intimidate them, but I feel they should respect car drivers too.
@FOB-on-a-bike2 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching my video. I'm sorry you have been held up by a cyclist. They probably weren't even aware they had caused you an issue. I try to get out of the way as soon as I can if I feel I am holding cars up, this is not always immediately but I get out of the way ASAP. I'm sure the guy didn't hold you up for as long as you suggest, it just seemed like it did. We are all trying to get somewhere, we just need to be more considerate of each other.
@tirokopita2 ай бұрын
You're in a car, how soon do you need to be somewhere that you would endanger someone's life. Try cycling for a while and you will see people like you driving dangerously around others.

It would be good if drivers with dashcams had a website to send footage of cyclists running red lights, driving on pavements etc, but we all know this is only a one way street. Seems a common theme in the current political landscape!
