It's a class 37 or a Tractor. A class 55 Deltic has a taller nose at both ends as well as having two windscreens instead of three as is the case on the class 37.

Does this route go through the big curve at carstairs where the train slows to a crawl? Remember it well from my childhood trips from Edinburgh down to Lancaster, where we changed to go to Blackpool! Only recently learned the big curve goes around Carstairs State Hospital, where the ciminally insane are housed! Thanks for uploading these videos man, your channel was recommended to me by youtube and I'm glad it was!

Thank you for your lovely comment. I’ve just had a look on real-time trains and yes it does go through Carstairs junction.
@cloughie19818 ай бұрын
@@benpayne5257 Yeah I just checked the map and Cartsairs junction must be where trains from Edinburgh can get onto the west coast mainline. So many great memories of riding an Inter-City 125 down to Lancaster and feeling like a little king lol Looking forward to seeing more of your content man, good luck with it all :)

Spectacular. Thank you for such a fabulous glimpse; it’s like being there. It makes me so proud that we can still do these ‘history in action’ ceremonies with such care and timeless precision. Ceremonies like this are a vital part of our national identity.

Hi Ben, I'm a Payne from Newfoundland, lots of Channel Islanders came here several hundred years ago, including, as I've read, some Paynes. Do you have any family links to the islands?

I walked around this area during my short visit, Town church area, got a bite at the Terrance Garden, walked up Hauteville to the Victor Hugo house, down Havelet, to the Octopus then back to the taxi rank. What a wonderful place. Thanks for posting this.

You walked right past Victor Hugo’s statue, the pub closest to a church in the Uk, statue of Albert, should have started from the harbour mouth taking in the beautiful vista.

@@benpayne5257 well after I got to poole around 4am I had to ride 34 miles to get home on my 125cc bike which took 45 mins. I was fortunate tho for some they had to go further to get home plus I napped on the ferry to it was irresistible
