When I was younger I used to rent Straight to Help every day for about a month, on VHS, and watch it. Love it.

Another meaty beast of a song from one of his generation's best song writers. So much to sing your teeth into (and I'm a vegetarian). I just resently found out he sampled a Mina song from the 60's for this masterpiece. Love it!

She may be the face I can't forget A trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings May be the chill that autumn brings May be a hundred different things Within the measure of a day She may be the beauty or the beast May be the famine or the feast May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell She may be the mirror of my dreams A smile reflected in a stream She may not be what she may seem Inside her shell She, who always seems so happy in a crowd Whose eyes can be so private and so proud No one's allowed to see them when they cry She may be the love that cannot hope to last May come to me from shadows of the past That I remember 'til the day I die She may be the reason I survive The why and wherefore I'm alive The one I'll care for through the rough and rainy years Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears And make them all my souvenirs For where she goes I've got to be The meaning of my life is She, she Oh, she

She, es la canción que cuando la escuché por primera vez lloré, llore mucho porque mi vida se agota y mi sueño es poder ser She algún día para un hombre.😢

I recall at the end of this performance, Elvis had a real "Follow that!" expression on his face.

Na minha opinião, apenas a versão original com o Charles Aznavour é melhor que essa. (In my opinion, only the original version with Charles Aznavour is better than this one)

Still my favorite song of all time (even after all these years) falls into the category of "Sing along with the kids in the car, despite the rather inappropriate lyrics "

Love Elvis C.... I cannot find his performance without the "clips" from the Julia Roberts movie, which, "okay".. but I like the focus on Elvis! thanks!

My appreciation of Elvis Costello really increased around the time he sang this, when he did a collaboration with Burt Bacharach. I was not familiar with his earlier music except "Allison".

When My Aim is True first came out I had stopped by a friend's house and he said "You Have To Hear This!".....we listened to the whole thing and I was an instant E.C. fan.....I was stunned......im still a huge fan and own over 30 of his albums.....

My Aim Is True, as well as This Year's Model, are so fucking good. Basically perfect albums because you don't want to skip a single song. As an IMMENSE Pink Floyd fan, those albums are up there with The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, etc. Those EC records are that good.
