Thank you so much for sharing this video! My husband and I have been visiting Colonial Williamsburg for years, and we have always stayed in one of the Colonial houses. We actually just got back a few days ago. We stayed at the Richard Crump house this year. Those painted floor coverings are actually called floorcloths. I'm a retired Master Stenciler and I've made several of them. They're very time consuming to make, but so beautiful! If made correctly, they last for many years.

@@sewcrazybaker thank you for your insight! They are beautiful and we were so thankful to be able to stay at the Moody house. We’ve been visiting Colonial with our kids since the mid 90’s and we find something different each time go.

This is one of my favorite places to stay; the proximity to the Colonial area, and the use of the amenities at the Inn make it really the best value.

they probably should have remodeled it during Covid when no one was visiting. We’ve always stayed at the Lodge. I’ve always wondered what it looked like inside. Thanks for the video.
@markmlynarski13867 ай бұрын
We’ve stayed at the Lodge as well (and both versions of the Woodlands). We had never stated the Griffin and we needed one night before our stay at a colonial house. I was curious so we reserved this room. The lodge is now run by Marriott. We had stayed there before Marriott took over and after. Didn’t notice much of a change. We’ve always liked the lodge as well, but recently have been staying in colonial taverns. We are going again this spring and have a three night stay at the Griffin.

@@markmlynarski1386 hopefully, at some point in time we will stay at one of the colonial houses.

@@daveo2821 during the winter months you can get the tavern rooms at reasonable prices. I have videos of the Brickhouse Tavern on the Duke of Gloucester street and the Chiswell Bucktrout house. Both have multiple rooms in each but each has a private bathroom. The prices were comparable to the lodge. The houses are a little more expensive.
