@@JonathanProphete-l5g Congrats on your purchase! I think you will be in generally good shape with your G01 X3. The B48 2.0L engine yours has should be a lot more reliable than the N20 2.0L that the F25 X3 had. The N20 had some major issues with timing chain guides. I think you may end up with some cooling system issues down the line 5-7 more years probably due to some of the plastic components but the engine water pumps are back to mechanical from the more failure prone electrical that the F25 generation had. Not a bad idea to think about cooling system overhaul in the 65-70K mileage range or ~8-10 yrs of age on modern BMWs in general. I recommend oil changes every 5-6K miles going forward to help keep everything happy in that engine, transmission fluid drain and fill at 80K, transfer case fluid at 50-55K and front and rear diff fluid every 30-35k miles and you’ll be on your way to hopefully a long and happy ownership.

I highly recommend a pre-purchase inspection with any used BMW or car in general. Going well. I'm at 48900 miles. Just DIY rotated the tires and did a brake fluid flush, still living with the very minor oil leak at the turbo. I clean it up every 3-4 months with brake clean and a couple of blue shop towels. I sent off an oil sample to Blackstone labs from the last oil change (5500 miles on the oil) and it came back very good. I'll probably be replacing the tensioner, pulleys and belt in the next couple of months. The tensioner is rattling a little bit. Planning on changing the transfer case fluid sometime this year as well, around 50k miles is recommended.

what is your fuel consumption?
@tyler951 Жыл бұрын
I've tracked ~15k miles on Fuelly over 54 fuel logs, best 28.8 mpg (I was basically hypermiling it on this one, ecopro mode driving below the 70-75 speedlimit on a 400+ mile drive to visit family), worst 16.4 mpg and I've averaged 23.1 mpg with about a 70% highway 30% city split. It can easily return teens if you drive spiritedly. I drive it pretty conservatively overall.

Hi - I’m planning to buy one with 90k miles . Did you get any problems with the car ?
@rodrigomeca Жыл бұрын
There could be a lot of possibilities: 1 - Oil Supply Line to the turbo (bad o-ring) 2 - Oil return line from the turbo (bad o-ring or rubber) 3 - Dripping valve cover 4 - Bad PCV will fail to keep vaccum inside the engine and therefore forcing it to leak 5 - Clogged catalitic converter 6 - Clogged air filter or intercooler

Hi! I believe Apple car play was only available as an option to be added or "bought" for this generation of X3 after build date around December 2016 I believe. @Lou-li3lb Жыл бұрын
My 2013 x5 xdrive35i has a leak in the same area. Mine looks like it's coming from that connection with the torx screw shown at 0:22 in your video, and then it runs down to hose to the other end of that connection and then drips onto the oil pan gasket. Wondering if that whole line can be replaced from underneath. I think there are O-rings on both ends. I'll take another look in a couple weeks when I do the trans pan.

Hey, very usefull video for X3 F25 platform. Can you confirm that original display which went bad in your car had LQ088K5RZ05 part number and the one you replaced with from Opuradio was LQ088K5RZ01? Isn't the display should be exactly same part number and did you have any issues till this day?
@tyler951 Жыл бұрын
Still no issues, screen is perfect without a single scratch or failing reflective coating. I don't remember which part number was the original screen, I don't have it any longer but I want to say it was lq088k5rz05. Please do check your part number on your screen before ordering. Depending on the model year I think there could be a different connector. This is what I put in my maintenance record: 8.8 inch LCD panel for CID (center information display) failed and became largely illegible. Replaced with Sharp LCD panel part lq088k5rz05/lq088k5rz01 Ordered from Opuradio.com $88 part price + shipping and service fees.

@tyler9512 жыл бұрын
I totally understand. I only got this X3 because I've had the experience and a wealth of knowledge of what can go wrong. If you have the ability to have one under warranty, that's the best way to go unless you are confident in doing a lot of services and work on your own.

@@tyler951 I want to get an X3. Either an N52 or B58 one. I have a general view of the breadth of what can go wrong & I know I’m signing up for a different experience. @@RadBunny2269 If you can swing a G01 X3 xDrive M40i with the B58, that is the one to have. I specifically wanted the F25 xDrive 35i because I like that you can have the powerful engine (N55) without it having to have the "mSport" look unlike the G01 and LCI G01 and I really liked the xLine appearance package.
