I have only painted one car. It was a 79 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Made the mistake of painting the fenders first like this guy. I leaned into it to paint the hood roof and trunk. Left it looking like crap. Had to start all over. Second time around the paint job came out decent

Personally I would have done the roof first so pipes or person didn't accidentally lean on the fresh paint, but I've only been doing it for 50 years on and off so what do I know 😂

Yeah it's best to start from the top and paint down to keep the over spray wet especially on an overall paint job. Throw the air hose over and behind the shoulder to prevent it from wiper washing up against the wet paint. Also better to walk the length of the vehicle when spraying the sides to keep a consistent mil build and avoid loading up on panel to panel lapping. Less risk of runs/molting/solvent trap caused by excessive paint build up which can cause solvent pop. 50 years you probably already know this. It's funny to read some of these comments by custom painters for example who have no idea what they're talking about.

Supposed to start from top going down because when you start from bottom u will be polluting bottom line from with dust Wen doing the upper side ..roof first ,bonnet n then you start moving around
