Oh my gosh! I loved AFC so much, it was my first time experiencing a furcon in general! I had fun entertaining others as Godzilla and breaking it down on the dancefloor as Godzilla in the Night Market, and I hope to go again next year!!

ngl as someone looking at a future in a wheelchair I've been feeling conflicted: I have a longing for joining in with these fursuit events, but also felt a lot of intimidation, as so many people seem to be so active and fit and engaged in high levels of physicality and contact, so to see this video open with (and repeatedly feature) a furry in a wheelchair was really emotional and positive experience for me! I'm new in the fandom, and this really made me feel like it could be possible for me to join in fursuiting one day! thank you so much ;v;

Your message has moved me. The furry in the wheelchair that you mention, is in fact my partner; who was suffering from a severe knee injury at the time. While not going to Anthrocon would have potentially been a wise decision- they decided to persevere and not let their current disability affect their desire to interact with and contribute to this wonderful community. This community belongs to everyone, and all should feel that they have the ability and freedom to know that they belong here and deserve to be preserved for posterity. Anthrocon, of all the major furry conventions, imo is the most accessible to not only newcomers but also folks who have insecurities about whether or not they can forge a path in this fandom. You absolutely can and must
