Dimarzios all the way. SD's are brittle and harsh, or as some people seem to call it "chimey". If I wanted a guitar that was that harsh I would get a Rickenbacker.

Man i was just checking out some greco sgs and ran into this. Definitely a pleasant surprise, greatest punk band of all time and you nailed the tone! Yknow i always though Philo probably used a strat for the record cuz of all the crazy wammy bends and shit. How the hell did you manage it on that thing without it goin out of tune?

I've seen him with an old SG Standard with the vibrola, I always assumed that was what he used, but I had no idea. I've been lucky with this guitar, it keeps tune great. Just some lube on the nut and saddles goes a long way

No, just a Melody Maker SG from 1969. I put an aftermarket pickguard with a Firebird pickup on it.
