Excellent footage, enjoyed this especially with the old dodgem track and Sobema Matterhorn, brings back alot of great memories having worked both these types of rides and more when travelling in the 1990's 👍

Thanks as always pal yes I also go back in time to the 80s 90s when I was active ,talking to one of the lads who worked on william Warwick spectrum skid that used to come to the local recreation ground where I lived when I was about 10 years old spent many hours watching that skid, memories,memories lol

I got into it because my mums uncle by marriage was a showman (William Bacon) he used to take me to goose fair when I was very young he owned and travelled a Ark, Gallopers and couple of stalls my Grandmar used to run one of the stalls at Goose to help out that's how I was drawn to the fair

Excellent footage, really like how you captured the whole atmosphere with the games and ball in bucket with the customer and showlady, all the rides looking sharp with your camera, fantastic footage of the Matterhorn cars zooming towards us and great footage of the Superbob with its smoke, lasers and lights. Enjoyed this 👌 👍

Growing up in the 90's the waltzer was and still is a favorite ride helped to pull down the waltzers and Dodgems was about 15 at the time great experience and hard work loved every second of it. Would be a dream to own such a fantastic machine! ♥

@@ForeverFunfairsUK2520 It was the hardest graft I did at the time I discovered what hard work was within 10 minutes and like you say rewarding it truly is if only some of today's youngsters got off their backsides and did some manual hard work such as this the world would be a better place.

Seems like some good machines this year, but I do wonder how well they are gonna do without any festival stuff to draw the crowds in. Were the showman told about this years event, or lack of it?

There's always a good selection of rides, the general feeling is that it will have a negative impact not having the festival part of it but hopefully will be back to normal next year 👍

@@stephenplatt2078 Did this years ago and yes was tired after a pull down and build up but you get use to it, mind i was much younger then. I think for the showmen themselves it's a way of life and had i stayed on i would still be grafting just like the showmen no matter your age you keep going and get on with it 👍

They start pulling down early. Most fairs her in the United States do start tearing down until about 10 at night

No longer called riverside festival as the council have taken away the funding its just a funfair now, no fireworks bands or anything else

So been speaking to the showmen they agreed that its known as the riverside festival but this year its not so I have changed the title to Nottingham Trent Embankment cheers.

In Ireland there used to be a funfair in this particular location however the council also cut the funding of it. Used to be big enough with a concert too. Now the town is essentially dead most summers without it apart from the odd cruise ship that comes in.
