The option called "subtitles" doesn't change the language of the subtitles, it changes the language of all game text. That's not even a bad translation: the original Japanese also incorrectly calls that option subtitles.

I agree mostly, but for me a big reason I love these games is the STORY. Despite it very clearly having over the top b movie writing and voice acting, it’s 100% sincere. The game at every point takes itself seriously and the tone of human defiance against impossible odds, where no matter how hopeless the situation got, they never gave up. The biggest thing is the power fantasy, and the game actually acknowledges it. You are an unstoppable force of destruction, truly embodying the unstoppable power of a Storm and because of that humanity rallies around you. At the start you’re like “big swarms and explosions! Man these enemies are goofy lol” but at the end, you ARE the EDF “I will defend the Mother Earth! I WILL SAVE HUMANITY!”

I have two issues with edf 6. 1 why can’t we have failed timeline vehicles, I want the Tacoma with the back mounted machine gun and the nix mobility type their rad and we don’t get them. 2 I think mission reuse dampens the highs of the game edf 5 felt pretty solid all the way through besides the missions where you fight the base on the ground I didn’t enjoy replaying those but 6 has those enemy introduction missions that I hate. fighting the bobble head robots was fun the you do it again but they explode which was fun it changed how they work but then you do it 2 more times with reskins that don’t feel any different. The rescue missions above ground would have been fine if you didn’t do the same thing back to back 2 versions having very similar enemy style. I love edf but i wouldn’t recommend 6 over 5. I think 5 might be the perfect edf game but I think next game will be a reset so I’m very optimistic.

When you are climbing to get the ikran with the music going, was so good to me. I really enjoyed this game.

If the technology allowed it I'd still play a game that looks like this but can handle 1000s of enemies at once over one that looks hyper realistic but can only handle around 100 enemies at once... I'm looking at you, Iron Rain.

Great analysis 💯This is actually my first Ubisoft game, and as an Avatar fan, I gotta say Ubisoft DELIVERS in this game! Playing this game on PS5, the visuals are out of this world! A good example of that would be the “taking flight” ikran mission which is one of best missions I’ve played in recent years. The impressive work done by the developers in world design and in the flora and fauna adds that sense of authenticity while a great main story that centers on a “child of two worlds” concept makes me want to invest in this lush world of Pandora even more. 💙 Oel ngati kameie and irayo!

Great Review Push-to-talk is a toggle. Maybe that helps you, maybe it's still broken, but it's different from other games. Poor Air Raiders. 4.1 had all the Shield Bearers and the World Eaters. 5 got a pass and then they brought back the nerf bat. At least they have the drones and such now. The shock drone is silly broken on some missions.

Im just gonna say that Avatar is a better Farcry game than any other Farcry game ☝any game☝and i love Farcry apart from FC6. Hands down the most slept on game because Ubi PR. James Cameron and his team watched over this game very closely that's why it actually has that real Avatar feel.

Nice review! I have to admit, I find myself opening the game at least a few time every week just to run around and appreciate the environment, finding all sorts of small beautiful places. I think my only "wish" was that we would see the Na'vi more out in the world and they had a bit more to say. I love happening across them gathering, fishing, or just sitting around enjoying their day, and if you simply sit with them they say some very lovely things. But, I have heard a decent amount of repeat dialogue, and the fact they don't walk around freely or engage with you more does seem a bit lonely.

did not know ubisoft released a new farcry dlc

SCHiM is a great game but $25 is way too much for what you get, normally I don't like comparing games across genres but Dead Cells is also $25 and has way more content. Hollow Knight is $15 and it is the best game I've ever played and a complete masterpiece. I could justify it if the price was $10-$15 but for $25 you would expect a full fledged indie game comparable to the early stages of release like Dead Dells. I'm not completely putting off the game and definitely not dismissing it but at a first look I'm not impressed. The game is also really just the same the whole way through, but you finish the game before you get sick of it. I love the art style but there is just no variation in gameplay, the thing is they add new mechanics just like any other platformer; However the mechanics don't change enough for me to even acknowledge that they are new; For example the light mechanics just felt like a mechanic that has been there the whole time and I didn't realize it was new until I was almost done with the level. So in the end I agree with your final statement to not buy the game. What I do recommend is to play the demo as you get to experience essentially the full game in just that short demo.

Wow, I really liked this video. I liked the way you gave props to what it did right but addressed how the game design felt incomplete. I also just wanted to say after I finished the video I was expecting to scroll down and see like "200k views, 1 mil subscriber" etc. but the fact you only have 360 subscribers to me is bonkers. It does make me feel lucky to find this review from you however.

I looked up the trailers today ind the world was stunning. After watching some gameplay my excitement for the game is not there so much anymore. The way you move around, the way you fly. No motion, no impact when you jump and land back on the ground. The flying feels slow, there is no camera shacking when you fly. All those meaningful events feel so distant when you see the gameplay. It doesn't help that every action seems to have only one animation. You see no struggle when climbing up somewhere. I hope they patch this into better animations at some point. And the eagle eye feels weird.

I enjoy this ganr and was surprised by how much they were actually able to do with such a simple and seemingly limited concept. Haven't finished it yet, but it's a lot longer than I expected.

This game looks amazing, started playing and after a few missions it became frustrating, to cluttered and no clue what was plant was food or deadly anyway stopped playing, may give it a try again after watching your video

Curious to know if there will be any future dlc or a potentially completely new game for clans like the Metkayina. I haven't played frontiers yet, though I intend to soon, but personally I would want it all to be one game. From what I'm hearing the progression of your character in the story is very important to the player and I feel like it could potentially be really repetitive to do it all over again, but on the shore and with the ocean instead of in the forest and with the trees.

Map boundaries, repetitiveness, the lack of enemie types and a third person option is what hits harder than anything else 😢. I just wish they could fix all those.

It's literally one of the worst games ever created, from a game design perspective. The map is a cluttered mess, it's a collectathon, the "story" adds literally nothing new to the established "lore," it's repetitive, travel is slow, the entire thing is an utter mess. I was so shocked to see anyone saying anything positive about this game that I went and searched and watched a dozen other videos about the game & couldn't find a single positive sentiment from anyone that isn't a "journalist." It's literally every other Ubisoft game, but worse in every way, not by subjective feelings, but actual data & design. It's everything people don't want in their games, but with added systems that are explicitly worse, like the map, quest design & everything else. "Why do I feel more connected to...?" I don't know, delusion? A love for "sky people bad" narratives? I couldn't tell you...because it is honestly far worse than even an Assassin's Creed game, which at least has a clear map and less fetch quests.

If you change the refresh rate in settings, from 60 to 120, the graphics are even better. Waterfalls for example, will look a lot better. At 60 those look weird or shiny. At 120 it'll look much clearer and realistic.
