I came across this video after watching the 'I Am Celine Dion" documentary and found it absolutely fascinating how accurate your analysis of this song and her voice is!! It's heartbreaking to listen to this song now knowing in how much distress she was at that time.

Hands down the best vocal performance I have ever heard. The biggest of public stages, the Olympics, witnessed by tens of thousands at the Olympic Stadium and seen by billions worldwide. She was only 19 years old. I saw it live on television and have never forgotten it. Truly a performance for the ages. Magnificently done Vanessa.

This was actually not live, but lip-syncing according to the Australian OC. All the music and performance were pre-recorded to guarantee perfection. But still, Vanessa was amazing!

There are so many places to take in a breath to navigate through the 1 1/2 octave song to emote the hope, struggle, and triumph of our National Anthem. The one particular passage that helped me recall those moments in the battle was to take a breath before lightly singing, 'and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air', then take in another small breath, continuing not to collapse diaphragm support to retain most of my air, and then build in more emphasis as the notes descend, 'gave proof through the night', and finally another breath transitioning the voice down to chest with power and resolve to punctuate victoriously, 'that our flag was still there.' I praise God each passage gave me to moments to recall more clearly those words Francis Scott Key penned after he witnessed the flag pole remaining standing in Fort McHenry.

I know you posted this years ago, hoping you see this. I'm singing it at the local rodeo in a few weeks. Pretty sure we have the same range. I chose G as well because that is stretching my low range haha. Any outfit suggestions? I have cowboy boots, but was wondering what you would suggest as far as attire?

Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

SOS is Dimash masterpiece!! SOS is an existentialist song, about ups and downs in life, depression and death, when you feel you don’t belong here. The Singer , it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. Dimash is a world class artist, turned 28 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4. ❤️🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

If this is the First Episode of The Singer in 2017, please note that Dimash, the only non Chinese had to go first and he said it was the first time ever singing on what he called “the adult stage” at age 22. SOS is Dimash’s signature song and he sings it at the many, many solo concerts he has held. Perhaps watching the 2021 version would be better. Dimash was put in music training school at age 5. He sings a minimum of 3 hours a day and swims for breath control. He had to learn each song that he sang in 2017 in only one week. He is so so so much better and there is no one you can compare this humble, talented young man too. Now I will listen to what you have to say and I hope it’s positive.

I've seen several people react to this now, and they all seem to look away and pause the video right at the stomp, which means they don't see it, so they don't react to that. I've seen one person react to that stomp, and he didn't like it -- and I really do, and I really want someone with some training to validate my opinion on the subject! LOL
