would you check out my fight if i gave you the link i like your grouned talk especially with keeping your center of mass controlled or over your feet with a strong base when delivering snapping punches

Hi Jason. With regard to increasing your mass, wouldn't the aikido principle of being together with your opponent achieve the same effect?

Have you found a sensor modification?

Loved reading your book a few years ago! Would love to get in touch and talk fight physics! Also, what did it take to get published by YMAA?

Years ago I had a martial arts instructor that had a pad he strapped to a heavy bag that measured punch/kick power. I can’t find anything like it anywhere now.

Very interesting nice and simple way to do it. Great video, think I'll make one myself. Cheers for the idea. Martin

Interesting design. I've planned to do some similiar project using either accelerometer, piezo or a proper force sensor or combination of these. That software calculation thing you got there is very neat, but the input of mass is very dependant upon the style of the punch. Btw. it might not be always safe to lay electronics on a semi-conductive ESD bag :)
