You step back (not yank the weight back) to allow your arm to go behind the body. This allows your tricep to have a full contraction because it is attached to the shoulder. You would know this if you watched the stream that this workout came from 🙂.

Weight lifting only damages the muscle which is then need to be rebuilt, sugar is burned to help add protein to the torn muscle to fill in the gap, not much energy is burned to repair compared to doing cardio.
