Ironically, my advice to my totally insecure male young self (age 16 rather than 14) would be 'Make more mistakes' As a young guy totally shy with no confidence and no knowledge of the opposite sex it would have done me a lot of good to have a girlfriend instead of having to struggle until age 23 to have a relationship (and lose my virginity). Lots of young males also lose their virginity too young / become promiscuous and Amanda's advice might apply to them too. For others who are painfully shy the opposite might be the case and experimenting with any relationships (instead of none at all or desperate unrequited love crushes) might have broken the deadlock of fear and insecurity around girls. Much later in life I did make up for it a little and in some ways it was liberating.

I totally agree, and even 16 years old is very young to be dealing with that. Hormones are going crazy though and I can understand that there is also curiosity. I am a man of 72 now and would not, have not, ever considered a girl under 18 years old to be mature enough. But that is just my thoughts.

I am 80 and I think it is good advice for people of all ages. At least "don't knock it till you've tried it". But it may not be good advice to young people if you are worried about pregnancy.

Other (many)14 year old girls just flirt shamelessly -(ask me how I know). Don't blame the boys for going for it, they're just programmed to respond. The girls are programmed to get pregnant, that's the subconscious thing that mother nature is pushing here. Middle-class opinions really don't hold much sway.

social and emotional awareness are not taken seriously in society, and especially by parents. with the stressors it sounded like you were facing, it was going to be the stress relief to all the trauma, without supportive parents to guide you. i could be wrong? i'm speculating a bit based on what you did share

I found out a few years ago that my wife didn't, she even looks like this girl, butter wouldn't melt in her mouth looks but a lot of other things melted in her mouth and elsewhere. She still has that '' butter wouldn't melt in her mouth looks'' but I cannot trust her, knowing what I now know about her.

Making a bid deal about nothing! It's just sex. As long as you used protection wasn't forced etc. then no need to make a song and dance about it. Most teens lose their virginity around 15-17 years old in most Western countries anyways. Way better life advice to give a younger self.

No need for her to worry, in todays modern world her daughter will become or identify as Male, her son's will probably become or identify as female, or her daughter will become a lesbian nazi, or her son's gay left wing thugs. It is even very likely they will become woke, and need mental health treatment or help for the rest of their lives, And the mother will probably finish up in prison for causing mental turmoil to all the millions of woke, sensitive youth of the modern world.

Easy to say now that you have been destroyed mentally by all the narcisists you have shared your bed with. Don't listen to anything women say they don't mean it, leave them and if you want to keep them abuse them.

I think people forget what it used to be like in the 70s 80s. I know at the comprehensive I went to in the early 80s, there seemed to be peer pressure for girls of 14 to have boyfriends and sex at 14. Not only that but the older the boy the better. I remember 14 year old girls bragging about their 27 year old boyfriends. That's why I think all this mania about historic underage relations doesn't take this into account. Remember if the past is deemed wrong you can't punish people for living through that time. For example if a woman now can to the cops and say that a man she had relations with caused her psychological damage then Technically the cops could hunt down the now much older man and charge him, because technically at the time it was illegal also. But at the time that law was ignored by everyone, and the guys in question knew no difference. Of course now any underage sex is totally frowned upon.

If only one girl takes note of this video Amanda it's good solid common sense advice, I hope more than one sees and hears it. Teenage years are not as easy to navigate through as we first surmise, I spent the first part of mine in a children's home with a lot of problem kids!

I grew up in a very small village in Staffordshire. Everybody knew everything that everybody else did. Most of the girls lost it at 14. Most of us guys lost it at 17. I was always slightly depressed at how keen they (and we) were to throw away their childhood and for what? Hold on to your virginity for as long as you can. A good childhood makes you a richer person. you'll always come back to those roots so make them good roots.

Wow. We’re possibly on the brink of a world war. Nuclear weapons are being made ready in parts of the globe. 1000’s of men, women and children are being murdered in Europe. Pollution, famines. Diseases. Big political changes. Large population movements worldwide and the list goes on and this former ‘celebrity’ wants to talk about loosing her virginity from 4 decades ago! Really? I must be living in a completely different dimension to her.
