Thanks so much. For all the naysayers, use whatever you would want on your repair, and quit being dicks and telling her what tou would do. Make your own video and post it if you think you're so great.

I got to be honest with you. Your job looked awesome in the beginning until you put the final leather on it! Why in the world would you want to use that color to enhance the damage? It never looked good on the elbow of a man's sports jacket and it doesn't look any better on your couch. You would be wise to get the same color or put the cover back on it, or throw the couch out and buy a new one

I think it would have been nice to store your mom's quilt in the old comforter bag instead of the garbage bag... it would protect it, and it's clear so u can see exactly what in it

I think it would have come out better if you cut regular shaped pieces, maybe cover all of each arm

I've been building furniture for 10 years and you wouldn't belive how many "brand new" pieces of furniture get similar repairs (on a smaller scale) before they ever leave the factory. I sew 2 or 3 pieces a day

Well done, my only suggestion is not to throw the large zip comforter bags out. They are perfect for storing seasonal blankets, comforters, quilts, and perfect for the items you stored in garbage bags.

Thanks! I had to repair my couch and your video made that happen, I used the cardboard (what a great idea) covered it with black fabric and reattached the fabric on the inside of the couch and it looks great! thanks again!

Omg! I'm sorry but the end result really doesn't look aesthetically pleasing. It looks like somebody patched up their couch. I hate to say it but nobody does that! The steps leading up to the patch were very helpful. But that's when it took a turn down the road I don't care for. To each their own. Next time you might want to consider going to the fabric store and seeing if you can find a very very close match. I don't know what else to say but thanks for sharing.

Wear some good rubber gloves and use steel wool that's specifically used for striping paint, this works well on creases and crevices, the legs and areas that you want to paint are easier to do with this as well, some folks will use a gel stripper which will cut back on sanding, my mom used to do wood refinishing as a job for many years, I helped her and picked up some tips along the way, if you're going to do a major job, a hand sander is a great investment.

OMG! You are a life saver with this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We came home the other day to find our 1-year old husky had destroyed our couch arm, all the way to the wood. He isn't usually destructive, so this really surprised us. I cleaned it all up to access the damage and then I got to KZbin to see if anyone shared their quick fix. I found your video and was totally inspired. I knew in my head what I was going to do along with following your video. So, one day later I feel like I nailed it. It looks pretty good if I must say. Your video was great and got me motivated to fix what our pup had done. Thank you. Thank you.Thank you!!!!
