Wow, it really opens up the sweep of the pedal. I use fv-500h and I’ve been considering fv-30h to save the pedalboard space but it’s obvious it doesn’t have the gradual sweep of the bigger version. Did you use solid shaft or split shaft pot? Can it be attached to mechanism without modifications? Thanks
@nagatabeck11 күн бұрын
I used split shaft pot. It needs modifications for attachment. In this video I used CTS, but it is easier to use CTS Mini.

Amplitude = More reverb and more bottom end. Better for distorted sounds Bias Fx = Less reverb + more top end. Better for cleaner tones.

Wait what’s going on with this guitar lol… I didn’t notice how the strings were laid out until now. I’m considering using a sentient in my bridge position since it’s supposed to be kind of like a 59 bridge and I’d like to retain some paf quality. Can you post more of this if you get the chance?

Gotoh sounds crisp with a nice even tremolo dive similar to Floyd’s. The Wilkinson sounds darker and more muted with an uneven tremolo dive similar to vintage bridges.

I really don’t understand why people like the amplitude sounds here better than bias fx but I am sure you could tweak them in either direction

Hey man just wondering if you’re using any eq and or eq/mixing plugins. Is your focusrites input gain set to 0? Having a hard time getting really nice tones from petrucci
@nagatabeckАй бұрын
No EQ or other plug-ins are applied to each track, but other plug-ins are used for mastering. The Focusrite gain is not 0, but set just right to get enough level without clipping.

So it turns out the string spacing on the Gotoh is just the finest bit wider. Maybe by 1/64”. Not enough to make a difference really, but the fender saddles leave the tiniest gap between each saddle while the Gotoh is right up against eachother, which I’m sure affect vibration.
@pjincho2 ай бұрын
I’m comparing my Gotoh traditional to my fender pure vintage, and it seems like the string spacing/individual saddles is/are the tiniest bit wider… am I crazy?

I purchased Petrucci's before trying others and I love it. I was thinking of buying Henson or Abasi but I don't think they offer a sound different enough to make a second purchase worth it.

Thank you for this demonstration. I think the vintage wire and capacitor take away some of the treble. The guitar sounds "warmer".😅

If you lower the tremolo bar enough it gets out of tune when coming back?

If it is adjusted properly, it will not go out of tune so much.

Duncan's have more bright but...hard to tell the difference with distorsion. I think clean tones are also good to find pickup's differences. For the price, I would go with Fender noiseless. The main issue is the available colors for the pickups, in Fender you only have white aged color...
