You said that Chemical Engineering is 1% chemistry and 99% Engineering and that's wrong because Chemical Engineering stemed from Industrial chemistry so it's not possible for the Chemistry there to be 1%. We're seeing 20% chemistry, the stoichiometry you do in material and energy balances with or without chemical reactions How's it a 1% chemistry? What about a little of biology utilised in bioreactor design, what about a little of physics. Chemical engineering relies strongly on chemistry and they're one of the Engineers that are better of in chemistry than Mechanical Engineers

Quit chemical engineering for medicine, now in my 5th year of med school. The drop in difficulty was astounding. Chem. engineering was like a 9/10 in terms of difficulity for me, while med school is a 3/10 max.

hi, i’ll be going off to uni in 2025 and well i’m unsure. i want money, or at least i want to be comfortable. i love maths it’s so fun and im great at it. i currently study chemistry, physics, maths and further maths and am considering a chemE degree. i don’t want to let go of the maths part of my life though. also, id say the environmental part of chemistry is the part which appeals least to me. i was just wondering if a chemE degree is still worth it? can i still get money outside of the environmental side of chemistry with a chemE degree? it’s ok if you’re not sure i just really don’t want to make a wrong decision (maths or chemE or something related).

I was also struggling with my low CGPA, I was depressed and under huge mental pressure, I started to think of myself a bad student. I lost my confidence in chemical engineering and lost interest. just then I saw your video and from the comment section I would come to learn that, I am not alone to whom chemical engineering is hard. thank you so much for this type of video.. keep producing more videos, and don't stop it. love from Bangladesh

I am a chemical engineer. I agree with some of your points, however, we did the full chemistry curriculum that chemistry majors do for their bachelor of science. So a LOT of chemistry. Don't agree with the 99:1 ratio. I'm from south africa though, so it must be different in the states.

Just go for the CS, if you don’t want to work in a plant environment. I work at a major refinery in Texas as Cheme, there is no work life balance for the job since the plant is 24/7. Of course I am making 140K with pretty good benefits, but the stress and working environment suck. Don’t even mention the layoff. I would choose CS if I get a second chance.

I graduated in chemical engineering in 1980. I worked in Zambia for two years, South Africa for five years, Australia for three years. Loved it all. I am now retired from chemical engineering. I married a South African meisi many moons ago and spend half the year in Suid Afrika! I am concerned with the lack of affordable housing in South Africa. How can a population with an irregular income pay interest on a mortgage? Answer: They can't. Possible remedial answer - "The Table Mountain Housing Finance Model. There is no interest payable! Integral borrowings in early and late adult life is fully offset by integral savings in midlife - thus balancing the books. It is available online if you are interested. I doubt it should be piloted in South Africa. I think it should be piloted in a small stable sovereign state to iron out software glitches in it's administration.

I have just started chemical engineering.. i just found that most of courses of CHE and Mechanical engineering are the same .. talking about my area... Is persuing chemical engineering a good choice or switching to mechanical engineering..
