Same question as everyone else. Is that reading 7000 or 700 volts?
@gordonfraser697820 күн бұрын
You say 5,000 volts and the meter shows 7.8. I'm confused.

Need more info, please. MUCH more. Firstly, you mentioned we need 5k volts. I agree. But the little reader shows 7.3... Or... 5.4 Is that first reading 7 thousand volts? Or... 700? Also I have the exact same device. There is no on of off switch. Often times it comes to life, but sometimes the led is blank How can I force it on?

I always heard it put like this in regards to the lethality of bears: "If it's black, fight back. If it's brown, lay down (play dead). If it's white...goodnight!"

Have to admit, this is a cool video, and I AM a fan of electric perimeter fences.. However, I don't trust for a second that a bear like this (and like, most others) won't be thinking 24/7 how to get through the 'fence' for food.. Motivated enough, it could bulldog that fence.. The testing we saw almost certainly was followed with much more after dark, or no humans seen if its light almost all of the time.. You CANNOT go wrong having one of these... Personally though, I'd multi-layer the inner perimeter with the fairly cheap 12g or primer trip wire setup just in case anything pushes past the outer electrified fence... The crack is unmistakable, and if that doesn't send them running, you have a chance to use your bear spray if you are a passifict researcher who doesn't believe in firearms.. You can search YT for the trips..

in 1804 in the Journals of Lewis & Clark Captian Meriweathe Lewis asked the Anakin Indians about the 'white bear' (later called grizzly). "They hunt. THey kill. You watch for or die." ( But don't bother reading the politically correct revised edition. Get the one in the original old English before the virus of PC infected America.)

For added umff to the fence, I’ve always laid chicken wire around the perimeter to which I connected the ground. I’ve used Gallagher fences for 30 years with the flexinet fencing to keep bears out of my bee yards in the mountains when in the fireweed honey flow. Never had a bear breech it yet.
@jamesstewart30889 ай бұрын
Oh come on. Let the woke people do this sort of stuff without the fence. They are the ones that get offended because someone is using a fence. They will tell us that we are abusing those animals. Let the woke culture do this up there, come on.

@hyena131 Жыл бұрын
Jim Banda Not exactly. The bear's privacy is neither exclusive and nor has it been disrespected, abused or harmed, so stop with the trite, populist crowd pleasing platitudes. It's a beautiful world and we can all share it. As long as people in these kinds of situations don't harm the animals in question when viewing them or compromise their domain (as is clearly the case in this video), then there's no problem. These people have every right to be there.
@jimbanda Жыл бұрын
@@hyena131 "trite, populist crowd pleasing platitudes!!" , Quite a raspy mouthful for my simple comment. If people have the right to be there in your opinion , that's easily said by you without malice , my comment was light hearted of course which went over your head , but it's great that I have the right to reply , and that is, stick your patronizing smart Alec teacher observation and fu@k off.
