6 years ago I was 18 and this was my anthem. I felt every lyric deep in my bones. I love this song, but even back then I used it like a milestone: I can't wait for the day when I don't relate to this anymore. Two career choices and a pandemic later, I'm 24 now and I still feel like I have the whole future ahead of me, but the pages aren't all empty anymore. The bright screen might have dimmed a little, but the paper soul has been replaced by something more durable (maybe plexiglass). the shame of knowing I don't belong gradually faded as my prefrontal cortex developed and I learned how everyone is going through the same stuff, and also no one is out to get me. It was terrifying, but opening up a little helped a lot and now I've got friends and stuff. Wild. It's weird to think it's been 6 years, feels like nothing at all yet an eternity at the same time, honestly. To any 18yo reading this: I promise it gets better. I'm not entirely there yet, but it's miles better now than it was 6 years ago. You won't believe how much better it gets, just trust me.

I'm not sure why every six months or so I come back to this, but here I am, loving it like every other time 😂

It's crazy that i managed to find these guys again after over a decade, i saw them live at Warped Tour in 2013 fresh outta high school and now, i'm 28 with a 2 year old and this song is perfect on growing up and something i can share with him when the time comes. Great job
