I just cannot understand how one can view this on individuals and how they take it from Esau and Jacob and make it about individuals determined eternity’s by God… I disagree. If you read at the beginning Paul is writing about his fellow Jewish brethren then as he continues he talks about the Abrahamic promise God was choosing to keep His promises through Isaac and then Jacob. This is not referring to individuals who would be elected for salvation or damnation… Then as he goes on he talks about “I will harden who I harden and have mercy on who I have mercy” well if you go back to genesis 15 God tells Abraham that they will be enslaved to a nation for 400 years (Egypt) and then God uses pharaohs hardened heart to carry out His will and promise for Israel that He promised to Abraham… Thus further continues to bring His promises of the messiah (Jesus Christ) that whoever would put faith in Jesus would obtain righteousness and that Jesus is a stumbling Block to the Jews because they based their righteousness on law keeping which was not Gods plan at all the whole time…. Idk why this is so hard to understand it’s literally so clear that this is not ab God determining certain individuals for heaven or hell…
