Greetings from France 🥰 Congratulations 🏆❤️. Well done Professor Melanie. You are sooooo beautiful and a lovely smile too. So cute watching you beading with your left hand. How come you threaded that needle with such "elegance". I blink ten times before attempting to thread the needle and finally get my needle threader. My preference in odd count is passing the needle under the thread 😂 In the first method there were many "forgetful" steps for my old rusty brain, wondered what I was doing wrong 😭. Tried the second and it was great. Thanks for sharing caring and making me SMILE 🥰🌹♥️👍👍👍

Greetings from France. A big wowwwzy🏆🍾. Ohlala Your video popped in front of my eyes and I watched it. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for this lifesaver. I was making a loose knot, then passing the project thread through and tightening the thread. To secure, a teeny weeny drop of G.S.CEMENT. Got glued to your prestigious channel on KZbin and subscribed. Thanks for sharing caring and making me smile🥰😄😍 👍👍👍💐

For some reason I can do all the weaves but Peyote 👀🔮🔮✋🙀🙀😭😭 I started with Raw, Craw,Praw, and have moved learning the different stitches, but Peyote seems to be hard for me....This Tutorial video and I finally understand it!! I can't just memorize steps, I have to understand what it is happening and how it works, you've beautifully demonstrated how to do stitch, while showing what was happening!! Tysvm 😅😅

Is there a video showing how to add new thread when using two needles. I think you go in opposite directions through established bead you're starting from?

Is this knot strong enough for a necklace with crystals? The necklace will be a bit under 30 grams when done.

This stitch is so much fun and looks great, but it is not reinforced and thus is easy to break the spiraling beads if they get caught. How do I make it more sturdy, particularly if I'm making a rope that is easy to catch on things? Thanks, Carol
@beadymel5 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol, I use 4lb Fireline for virtually everything. I suppose the weakest part of the beadwork would be one of the spiralling stitches on the outside as that only has one strand through it, so that would withstand 4lb worth of a tug if using this Fireline. The strongest part would be the core which has at least 3 passes of the thread through each bead which is considerably strengthening. Unless your outer spiral stitches are very loose and wobble around, I would think it less likely that they will catch on something. If you caught the entire rope on something, I would suggest you'd feel a hefty tug on your neck before the rope was damaged if using a 4lb tension thread. I hope this gives you more confidence. X

Really great demo. Not having done herring bone before it looks like the piece has 6 separate pairs of columns that are not connected. How are they connected?
@beadymel5 жыл бұрын
Golly Michelle, sorry I didn't see your query! The 6 pairs of columns may look separate but they are definitely connected, each to its next door neighbour. The final row may be what's causing you to question this, because it never looks like it's connected as the actual connection is below the upper edge. The best way for you to understand the concept is to have a go. Let me know how you got on.

First video of yours I've watched. Have to tell you, first thing I noticed was your sheer and frilly camisole over your basic T. I love that look! Gives me ideas for some new outfits from my own closet. Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial. Just learning how to do peyote stitch and appreciate seeing such a close -up demo. Wondering, do you have a suggestion of where to find some lovely patterns using peyote. esp. with beads names/color included? Getting board with stitching strips and color blocking. I've done counted cross stitch, so I'm adept at reading pattern charts. Please advise. Thanks again!
@beadymel7 жыл бұрын
LOL Glad you like the top! Am bit of an All Saints freak. When reading a Peyote pattern it's different from cross stitch and knitting grids because each row is half offset against the next. There's lots of fun to be had with diagonals and straight lines, whereas curves need a little more planning. Don't forget to look at the odd count peyote video - you will need to learn odd count peyote if you want to make symmetrical patterns and there needs to be a central bead. For grids to use for drawing your own designs, simply Google "Peyote grid" - there are lots available. You can also Google "Peyote patterns" and go to images - there are so many to choose from. I hope this helps, but any further info needed, let me know. Have fun. X

Found some beautiful patterns in Pinterest too! Anxious to try some. I watched your odd-count vid right after watching this vd. I like the quick turn method you showed, using thread bridge to hold the bead in place. Been spending a lot of time and thread on other methods. TFS!

OMGosh! I accidentally stumbled on this technique when I was using my magnifying lamp to thread my needle. What a difference it makes in time and frustration saved. Tech keeps the thread from folding over itself. TFS!

Is there a video that shows what to do next? How to know the thread and how to start and finish beading a necklace using wildfire? I tried to add a crimp like I would with beading wire and it didn't work.
@beadymel7 жыл бұрын
Sorry Barb, I haven't made a video covering that. I don't use Wildfire. I have used Tigertail for simple threading and crimps work well with that.

Will you do tutorials on circle / tubular stitches and how to read these graphs i am trying to learn circle square stitch but i cant see how they run the needles thank you i have your school save
@beadymel7 жыл бұрын
Hi Dora, Sorry, I didn't receive notification of your question - I've just spotted it. I really want to make some more videos, but have been writing books these last few years. So it's been a case of no time. I hope to start up again in 2018 and I'll make a note of doing tubular/circular stitches and graph reading. Circular Square Stitch - that's interesting - do you mean circular or tubular? I'm guessing you'd want to use this for beading around a perfectly cylindrical object like a glass perhaps? I'm not the greatest fan of square stitch as I don't like the extreme grid-like quality it produces, also it can sometimes be a bit 'thready' looking. But that's just my personal feeling. Peyote and Brick Stitch are great for tubular beading around objects. Let me know and we can discuss further.

Basically i am trying to do a lighthouse it calls for a circular square stitch the way the pictures looks the beads stack upon top of each other like if your doing say a square stitch earring the pictures werent very clear though i will have to see if i can find the pattern again , i did get another pattern but LOl do you know i cant figure out how she made her pentagon botton so i might just do the 5 sides and sew them together i will look forwards to watching more of your videos when you have the time i have saved you as a favorite teacher
@beadymel7 жыл бұрын
Out of interest, here's a good one in peyote just in case! in.pinterest.com/pin/371969250456128724/ However, to have a go at the square stitch one, I would hazard a guess that you pick up enough beads to go around the bottom of the structure, and join into a circle. Then for Row 2, pick up a new bead and square stitch it onto the one from which the thread was emerging, ending up coming out of the new bead. Pick up the next bead and Sq St it onto the bead below it in the 1st row. Keep going until you've completed the 2nd row. Then pass down into the 1st row (turning 180 degrees) and go through all of the 1st row beads. Then pass up into the 2nd row (turning 180 degrees) so that you will be passing in the opposite direction and pass through all the 2nd row beads before starting the 3rd row. At the end of each row you should pass through all the beads of the row below and the new row to stabilise them.

I wouldn't recommend this. I used clear nailpolish on few of my rivolis 2 years ago and they are still smelling terribly. I have not kept them in any box but on necklace stand. There's not odorfree nailpolish on market, yet. I can say my necklaces were nonusable because of the nailpolish smell.

Hi! I came across your channel while surfing around, watching tutorials for various bead jewellery. I find your videos very instructive and useful. Thanks. One thing that I find puzzling is that the order of beads seem to be 2-1-3(-4-5-6-----) but that's maybe of no importance?
