“We always do that, James and I, we kill off these characters…” ok bitch just cause you wrote yourself the best character in the Saw franchise and killed him in the first film, doesn’t mean you have to rub it in, alright?

From the videos I've heard of her, this isn't her best rendition of this song. But Jennifer shows here that she is indeed able to rein in that huge instrument of hers to produce sweet verses. The low parts were too low and it showed, with her struggling to keep soft tones at that range. The middle melodies were great until the "Daylight" verse, in which her voice was still too powerful to be properly delivered. The "burnt out ends" verse is perfect, with her crisp consonants crackling like a fire in it, and the "stale cold smell" really radiating her distaste for the sameness. Two things she could try to make this performance better: use more Judy Dench breathy spoken word for the softer parts, and contrast the verse intensities in a soulful way instead of trying to stick so hard to the traditional soft soprano renditions. There is no doubt that when Jennifer belts you can hear your own heart vibrate from that POWER. But she certainly needs a sweetness that can tie in with her amazing soulfulness and perfect consonants. My opinion: a tad more restraint and a bit more variety in the intensity of the verses would have made this go from good to stellar.

As much as this made me cry. After some thinking, I’m afraid that his story is a bit uhmm not real. My mom knits. The thing about metal knitting needles is the tips are very dull. Yes with enough force you can puncture like Laurie does in the movie. Plastic would break on impact. And he said his dog chewed up the needles and that’s why they were in the trash. Well unless his dog has the chompers of a T. rex, they would have been plastic, yes having some sort of defense even like a ball point pen (Laurie using a wire coat hanger) does help in an attack but the neighbors being threatened by them doesn’t help prove his story.

Agreed... I mean... Knitting needles, of all the weapons.. He just so happened to have some conveniently lying around in the trash.. The same exact thing Laurie had.. I can't believe no one called him out on it.. 😂

Alison Hart ; It just really breaks my heart that he faked this story for Jamie’s love. Because there has had to be at least one home invasion victim’s life saved by Halloween, and he just faked his own survival story. Also I do not believe she was in on it like others are trying to say, Jamie isn’t the type to do that. I would have believed it more if he wouldn’t have said knitting needles, literally if he said he found a fork I would be fighting that his story is true. But apparently he must be related to Michael Myers too hmmm

@@LindsayLohanHuh I think the same thing, I don't think Jamie-Lee was in on it either... Right! I mean, he didn't have a knife he could grab? I totally agree, lying about a story like that is not funny at all.. Well.. He got his selfie! Maybe karma came back around and he lost it lol.

Better than I expected but still the drama queen with a horrible ending. She is not the talent to sing these iconic Broadway songs on film...this and, of course, 'And I Am Telling You' from Dreamgirls (murdered that gem ) She needs two coaches: one to get rid of that heavy vibrato and find some pureness...and another to get rid of that Chicago street sound that always comes through.

Congratulations to Jennifer Hudson for landing a lead role in two of the biggest musicals of the 1980's, Grizzabella in Cats and Effie White in Dreamgirls. She is a phenomenal singer and I for one cannot wait for Cats to come out even if the CGI is...choices?
