Great video that gave me some new ideas, I’ve just started messing around with pigments and have been super excited about the sequencer for exactly this type of purpose.

Thank you! Yes, it's a custom kit I created entirely with the DX6 module. It's super great for shaping the drums anyway you like it.

Does anyone know how I can record each individual part on the drum on separate tracks for easier mixing and mastering?
@JannisLeWolff7 күн бұрын
As far as I know it’s not possible. Since it has a USB out I wonder if there could be a software like Overbridge for Elektron, but I haven’t heard of any.

Hi, Can You redistribute mono voices from each pad into poly using Ableton ? Id love it to just play melodically using several pad voices just like you do in mono
@JannisLeWolff7 күн бұрын
You can send midi to Ableton, modify it, and send it back to the Nord drum triggering multiple pads and notes. That’s possible if you’re up for some tweaking 😉
@maciejwachowiak76336 күн бұрын
Thank You gladly @ That explained would be an amazing thread. How to program this whole MIDI dustribution for a noob. If thats reachable to play Nord 3p as a multiple timbre 6 - voice poly i’d stop my hunt for poły synth

Beautiful content and teaching as always ❤ It would be great, if possible and desired, to reverse engineer some popular EDM songs and see how to reproduce it with this device. I understand it’s not going to be 100% match, but still great and inspiring. Or only parts/sounds of the song.

Oh man! Thanks! I have just recently discovered routing the Pigments arp/seq midi to a separate channel in my DAW (Ableton Live) and wasn't aware of the necessity of using the VST Pigments. I was pulling my hair out wondering "why can't I do the thing today that I was doing yesterday?!?". VST vs AU is why, and you answered the question. Thanks again.

How is the feel/responsiveness compared to other pads you have tried? I find most of them to be relatively insensitive... is this one similar? Thank you! (can you play a very soft roll with decent response?)
@JannisLeWolff12 күн бұрын
I feel really comfortable with the pads. They are not perfect, though... quite hard, and other pads at electronic drum kits feel smoother. But the response is great if you use a high sensitivity setting. I think the SPD SX Pads are a bit smoother, but if you learn how to set up the ND so it responds well to your playing I'd always prefer it over the SPD SX, because you learn how to create sounds that respond well to your playing and therefore make it a very personal instrument.

I've been feeling a bit of envy that the digitone 2 has 128 steps and for my style of playing, I love longer phrases with variation. This makes me want to dive way deeper into probabilities with one page loops on the Syntakt, especially with out of sync running LFOs. Great video
@JannisLeWolff17 күн бұрын
Thank you! And I agree: longer sequences are desirable, but accepting the limitation and working with it can be rewarding and inspiring, too :)

I just bought this and the ambient generator- I love your videos and devices. However, I am stumped on Generative Sequencer- with a Gmin scale, it will not play the minor 3rd or the minor 6th- however, it will play a minor 7th when the 6 macro is activated. I also tried setting it to a Dorian scale, and the Macro 2 will play both the D and the Eb. Maybe there is some conflict with using Ableton 12?

Is the nord midi in to ST and triggering sounds on the ST? I have a Roland spd pad and this would be sweet to do. Awesome video!
@JannisLeWolff23 күн бұрын
Thank you 💚 Here the ND only plays ND sounds, but it would totally work. The Syntakt has quite some advanced settings for expression through velocity, so it should be a fun combo. If you check my Syntakt playlist you can find a video about using it with midi controllers and about the interaction with the Nord Drum :)
