Hi Jannis Just bought your generative device for Ableton but it seems it only works in SUITE (I have Standard) - not sure how to contact you for support so hope you can help here

Thanks, Seed is fun. Too much talking instead than just getting into it. Good for your newbie viewers who are just starting with Live I guess to get to a simple config for generative purposes.

Thanks, really useful video 👍 for me it's a shame the new hihat lab doesn't have a tune parameter. It just always sounds a bit bright. It could be a pretty cool synth if it could be tuned right down 😞
@JannisLeWolff19 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing, glad you liked the video! I agree. But I think it’s the idea of the engine that you create the sound entirely by using oscillator frequencies, not a pitch. I feel like it’s okay since there are many ways of creating tuned HiHats on Syntakt already :)

12:41 this confused me. Why do step 7&8 not trigger when step 5 (being the previous conditioned trigger that step 7 is looking at) triggers? It seems that step 5 is ignored in the evaluation. But it's not a "regular" trigger without conditions. Or does PRE only look at the previous "probabilitized" trigger?

A very concise & intuitive tutorial, well done! One thing to understand with the unison feature is they modelled the algorithm around the behaviour of analog synths, but Its not specified in the manual! So, whenever unison is enabled there are unpredictable inconsistencies with the waveform, each time a new midi note is triggered. This can be undesirable, especially for bass sounds that often require some width and consistency to cut through the mix. Test it alongside an oscilloscope & your’ll see what I mean 👍🏻
@JannisLeWolff24 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing 😊 that makes a lot of sense!
@DamoM3323 күн бұрын
@@JannisLeWolff Another observation is that Analog oscillators are free running & use physical modelling. Therefore, everytime you hit a key the offset of the starting point will be different. When using Analog to create let’s say a kick drum, you’ll end up with a change in phase & amplitude each time it’s triggered. Ofc you could resample as a work around, but a fixed waveform would be more suitable in the context of drum sound design. 👊🏼

I was really lucky, my device works perfectly! But I heard quite some stories from other users that they had a pad that stopped working :/ mine has been working under quite heavy usage for almost 4 years, and I bought it second hand.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. What a fantastic tutorial. Although I don't necessarily understand what the filter decay does, the modulation of it made a huge difference. Thank you!

Thank you for the nice comment 😊 really glad you liked it! Filter decay is the time the filter envelope need from its most open point to the sustain level.

@@JannisLeWolff Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I think what really made this tutorial stand out from the rest is that you showed the parameter values. I knew these features existed, but by following along and inputting exactly what you're doing in the video made me try these tools for the first time. I really hope you do more of these tutorials on Syntakt and Digitakt.
